ket yesterday was under pressure late in
the afternoon by New York bears, who
are gunning for some weak longs. Market
p.°t yet thoroughly liquidated. The con
tinued Increase In the new crop movement,
together with fears of trade reaction this
fall, holds back spinners. We favor-the
bear side of the market and advise shprt
sales on bulges.

ket wns not bullish, the week-end figures
shows the crop moving III gum) volume. The
trailing after the first half hour did not
amount to ranch. Evening-up Into steadied
the market, and a rally of 5 or 6 (mints

Supply of selling contracts was getting
pretty short yesterday. Bears had to do
nil the selling to get it down. They made
the break In Idverpool In order to sell here.

crease the same time In 1904 of 103,000.

past week has lieen 212,181 bales, ngulust
245.344 for the seven days ending this date

hesitancy on apprehension of a cut in Amal
gamated and Aimcotidn dividends. The Can
adian stocks sluggish on uncertain crop
prospects. The market fell back after
shorts covered, but closed above Thursday's
prices. The ndvauce In the grain markets
caused a cessation of the vigorous up-bid
ding and there were many Inquiries sent
out regarding the sensational reports spread.
There wns no confirmation of the damage
report, and the market recovered some of
Its set-bnek.
Bank statement should be a fairly good
Look at those city bond#—107%—new
point. You can not do much with the short
side of the market when they are going up.
