Popularity the Reflex of Merit
OPULARITY, in the commonly accepted
meaning of the word, is recognized through
the binoculars of
Merit
Whenever a great many people have a decided preference for patronizing one store
rather than another, it can well be said that “this is a POPULAR store.”
And this sort of “popularity” is a very substantial compliment; it has not been
gained merely by courteous attention of salespeople, although this feature in the
conduct of any store is not only commendable, hut necessary — nor has agreeable
store conveniences and good service been the all-in-all responsible trade winning
tactics; although again these two potent factors are extremely helpful; for, after
all hvpothetical reasons are “scraped together” that influence and promote the
. success of any business, the great underlying magnetism that draws trade, and
holds it from*year to year, is
- Merit
Merit in tho things sold—Quality that stands invincible, without equivocation—
Quality that can not be questioned—Quality that outlives its guarantee.
When this policy of “keeping store” is pursued steadfastly for many consecutive
years, the reward is
Popularity
Not the effervescent kind, nor the flattery veneered variety; but the sound—sub
stantial—friend-making—trade-building—sales-increasing species—the negotiable
securities of pleased patrons that makes big stores and modern equipments pos
sible.
Integrity’s well-earned legacy.
Conditions as they exist today at this store arc hut the natural results of a policy
pursued on the ethical lines suggested. We are on the threshold of the Forty-
third year of a successful business existence.
Popularity has followed in the wake—
A magnetism, subtle, yet sure, draws you to this store—the store that gets the
S reference of the “classy” contingent that KNOWS style and DEMANDS it.
>ld traditions are outvied in the immensity and variety of this Fall’s showing of
men’s wear—
The sterling quality—the exclusive stylo types—faultless fitting characteristics—
elegance of finishing and mastership tailoring, combine as usual to make the Else*
man Bros. Ready-to-Wcar the best made and most fashionable of Men’s garments.
