LUNCHEON FOr"vI8ITING LADIES.
The luncheon given Wednesday at
the Capital City Club by the ladles'
conknlttee, of which Mrs. W. L. Feel
Is chairman, brought to a brilliant close
the social functions given In honor of
the visiting ladles to the conference of
cotton growers and spinners.
The occasion was a most elaborate
and beautiful one, rovers being laid
for thirty-nine. The long table was set
In the blue room, and In Its appoint
ments and decorations were rarely ar
tistic. The color scheme of decoration
was pink and crimson, and the renter-
piece was a great silver loving cup
tilled with American Beauty roses and
surrounded with silver vases. In which
pink cosmos were gracefully arranged.
Sliver vases of cosmos were placed at
Intervals down the length of the table
and ndmeroua sliver cnndelabra with
pink silk shades added to the beauty
of the scene. A lovely feature of the
decoration wan a Dresden effect of
wreaths of Ivy and pink cosmos, these
wreaths surrounding each plate and be.

Among the visiting ladles present
were: Mieses Macars, the brilliant
daughters of President Macara; Ma-
damo Roman Macayn, who on every
occasion Is beautifully gowned; Mrs.
J. W. McConnell, of England, who has
worn some lovely toilets here; Madame
Annlnger, a charming Viennese; Frau
Schmidt, of Germany, who has made
many friends here; Miss Tattersall, of
and Madame Swlgln, of Sweden.
Among the Atlanta women present
Mrs. W. I>. Peel wore a handsome gown
of black letted net over white silk and
a black and white hat: Mrs. llarvle
Jordan was becomingly gowned In blue
velvet fashioned with Irish point lure,
her hat of white lace.
Mrs. Hoke Smith wore a beautiful
gown of black silk fashioned with ex
quisite lace and worn with a black pic
ture hat.
Mrs. Frank Ellis, always beautifully
gowned, wore a Paquln gown of blue
chiffon embroidered and a black hat
trimmed with white plumes.
Mrs. Walker Inman's handsffhte toilet
was of pink silk, lace trimmed, her pink
velvet hat trimmed with plumes.
Mrs. Robert J. Lowry was lovely In
purple velvet and hand-embroidered
Irish point lace.
Mrs. Don Pardee wore blue satin, lace
' trimmed, which, was particularly be
coming
Mrs. W. A. Wlmblsh was smartly
gowned In dark blue cloth, her hat
trimmed with white and blue plumes.
Mrs. E. L. Connelly wore pale green
silk, lace trimmed, and a black hat.
Mrs. John Murphy was among the
handsomely gowned women present and
wore a gray chiffon broadcloth trimmed
with renaissance lace, her hat an Im
ported one of gray straw trimmed with
roses.

with rice.

a lovely white lingerie gown trimmed
with lace.

was of black velvet, trimmed with
