MISS SMITH’S BUFFET 8UPPER, After the theater Monday night Miss Mary Brent Smith gave a charming buffet supper In honor of Miss Sam- uella Whitman and Mr. Jerome Sim mons. Many palms In conjunction with quantities of yellow and white chrys anthemums were used In the decora tion of the drawing rooms and recep tion hall of the mansion. In the dining room an elaborate sup per was served, the handsomely ap pointed table being profusely adorned with chrysanthemums. The center- piece was of white chrysanthemums, the bonbons, ices and candelabra shades being In white and green. An orchestra rendered a delightful program. Miss Smith wore a green and white silk toilet, and Miss Samuelta Whit man’s costume was of white measallne satin and spangled net. Silas Martha Whitman wore a gown of blue silk lace trlm’med. A pretty home wedding of Tuesday morntg was that of Miss Arlene Al- inand and Mr. Edward G. Foster, which took place at the home of the bride’s parents In Oakland City. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Dr. Purser tn the presence of a large assemblage of relatives and friends. Miss Floy Almand, a sister of the bride, was the maid of honor and Mr. Edward Martin acted as best man. The ceremony was performed in the drawing joom, where the decorations consisted of white' roses and palniB. In the library the flowers used were pink roses and In the dining room, where a delicious breakfast was served, the color scheme was red. The center- piece on the table was a bowl fllled with red roses and the candle shades and candles were also In red. The bride was married In her trav eling suit, a tan volte mads over silk. The hat was of tan felt, trimmed with rose and ribbon. She carried a show er bouquet of brldo roses and Hilts of the valley. The maid of honor wore a gown of pink satin and carried a bouquet of pink roses. Mrs. Almand, the bride’s mother, was gowned ’In Iliac silk- fashioned with lace. Mr. Foster and his bride left Im mediately for a trlp'north. IN HONOR Miss BEAUMONT. A pretty occasion of Tuesday was the luncheon Mrs. Henry Fischer gave In compliment to Miss Irene Beaumont. The party Included; Miss Irene Beau mont, Miss Etta Beaumont, Miss WUlle Asher, Miss Ollle May Osborne, Miss Alberta Rogers, Miss Lily White, Miss Willis Mse Harrison, Miss Carrie Hen derson, Miss Luella Malsby, Miss Hat tie Williams, Miss Georgia Donnell.
