Naw York, Oct. 24.—The market to day opened at an advance of 3 to 6 point* and ruled steady during the firm fee- minutes, with the active months about 3 to 5 points net higher, on cov ering by recent sellers. Some little buying for long account which was attracted by the firmness of the Liverpool market nnd a better feel ing In the stock market.
