Confederate Dames Is a new organl zatlnn recently founded, in which Southern women everywhere will be In terested. To the new association only true blue" Confederates and their de scendants will be admitted. Mrs. C. W Richmond, of Memphis, was the organ Izer and director of the fleet chapter, which has been named for General H. Tyler, commander of Forrest's vet erans. The constitution states that the name was selected slnco “recognising In General Tyler one of our most faithful soldiers and veterans, wo name this chapter of Confederate Dames for him as a man whose bravery and loyalty we delight.to honor." The object of the circle la given In ths constitution adopted at the ilrst meeting. Is to "perpetuate and tench to our posterity the true hlunry of our great straggle and to commemorate the heroism and sacrlflce of our Southern people during the Civil war, and to raise funds for the endowment- of a schnlarnhlp to be called the 'Southern Mothers’ Scholarship In Tennessee.'" The constitution provides the ofllcer* shall he a director, assistant director, treasurer, recording secretary and cor responding secretary and advisory hoard, n membership committee and historical committee. A musical program under ths direc tion of Mra. George R. Hlnman added to the Interest of the meeting. Mrs. Cora F.
