On oomplalnt of certain saloonlats the vicinity of Decatur and Ivy streets that her effnrls as a Christian worker were interfering with their business, that she had been pulling men out of the saloons and inducing them to visit the Rescue Mission In Central avenue, Miss Fiber Daley, mission worker, was huled before Re corder Broyles ..Monday afternoon. The trial presented a remarkable scene, a great crowd of men, women and children. Christian workers and sympathizers, having marched to the police station In a body and crowded Into the police court room to witness the proceedings. When Judge Broyles rendered his decision, dismissing the case against the young woman, shouts of joy and exclamations of gratitude went up from the crowd, and hats and handkerchiefs were waved jubilantly In the air. Miss Daley denied she had pulled anyone nut of a saloon, stating that she merely walks up nnd down tho streets In the bowery districts Invit ing men on the sidewalks to visit tho Rescue Mission and pleading with them for their salvation. “I go out In tho name of Jesus," ex plained Miss Daley, as she stood be fore the judge’s desk with a Bible In her bands, “and Ho Is always with me. I do not pull men out of bar rooms, but merely stop them In the streets and In vite them to the mission. 1 do not loaf In the streets. Too many precious souls are being lost and the salvation of the soul is of too much Importance for Christian workers to loaf. We must keep moving.” In dismissing the case, Judge Broyles advised Miss Daley tlmt she was doing no wrong In Inviting men to the mis sion. but that It would be a violation of law should she pull men front sa loons or loaf In front of saloons. "Miss Daley," said the recorder, despise the saloons as murh as you or anybody else and am heartily glad they are going nut of business the fi-at of the year. But as long as they are li censed by tho city they have rights under tho law and these rights must not be Interfered with. Any forcible Interference with the business of saloon Is a violation of the low."
