nbort9 wero responsible for yesterday'** re

was In an uncertain position, with too
many bears. Fears that the farmer and
planter would I»e frightened by the declin

did not encourage bulla and brought about
Indiscriminate short selling. The sharp ral
lies late yesterday and this morning In
Liverpool is a result of this oversold con

little higher level liefore soiling again. We
believe lower prices will prevail ultimately.

YARN PRICES IRREGULAR;
The New York Commercial: Tb
arn market shows no Improvemei

elng picked up from time to tl ,
these Mies are not of sufficient size to stiff
en up prices any. Reports are coming from
rariotta quarters of the market to tne ef
fect that stocks are gradually accumulat
ing with dealers. Yarns which were con
tracted for some time ago by dealers arc
!>eg!nii!ng to be delivered by spinners, oi
are being charged up and held for deal
ers' accounts, on tho other hand, buyers
aro not coming forward lu this market for
any additional supplies, as both weavers
and knitters aecm to have enough oti hand
at the present time to carry them.
" * !>rs aro still holding out fo. _
ire considerably above those obtain
able in thla market, Hud will contluue to do
so. It Is believed, a* long as they have
enough orders on hand to keep their plants
running. Flue couuts show further weak
ness. as there is practically nothing doing
on these numbers. Other prices arc very Ir
regular, according to the quarter of the mar-
‘ st In which they are quoted.
Iu aouie qunrters prices ou the same
counts show a difference of fully ftftfte,
due to the stock that the seller happens
to have on hand. Several spinners have
been In the market during the past few
days for the purpose of slzliig up tho situa
tion. Some are reported to hare come
down In their price Ideas after finding out
conditions prevailing to be worse than
they expected.
Print Cloths Move Slowly.
, Jpt for purchases of regulars
was very little doing Monday In the
cloth market. Several of the large selling
agencies have been able to sell spot* In
wide goods at 6ftc. but ou near by de
livery and future delivery, these, ns well
ts all other wide constructions, are selling
off. No larae purchases of wide goods aro
eported. The cloths produced to Eastern
.nflls are now said to equal the calls made
for delivery on order, and this helps to sus
tain values.

Town Topics: The fresh outburst of

tlcaly no buying demand except from
who are abort of the market, and, In con

ms again turned to the sell Jig side, and
t Is more evident that the situation In con

bank rates and the competition for gold In
London. There Is some desultory odd lot

the falling oflr^ orders for new busluess,
and the probability that there will be heavy

the general business and financial situations

We advise those who are ccaitemplatlng
