New York, Nov. 7.-J. 8. Bache & Co.:
The market milled after tho opening de
cline, due to the resistance shown by tbo
stock market to the weakness lu leondon on
account of the advance In the English
and French bank rate. The two markets,
the security and cotton markets, are ao In
timately connected nowadays through the
strain In the money situation that any
marked change In atock prices U Immediate,
ly reflected In the market for cotton fu
tures. Liverpool advices state that Impor
tant Interests abroad are bearish for the
Immediate fnture on the American outlook.
There seems to be two well-intrenched In
terests opposing each other, hi tbs cotton
pit at present, and we look, therefore, for
an active trading market, with quick
changes. At present the balls have the up
per band. The market advanced about 16
points all around, but then become very
dull, The ginning report is duo tomorrow
nt 16 a. m. The tact that the movement hna
fallen off It a hull argument, amt n reason
for the activity of tha bull crowd.

PRICE8 WERE IRREGULAR
IN COTTON YARN MARKET.
Now York Commercial: Cotton yarn apln-
ners have now entered the market In search
of new business and tbe price Irregularities
so noticeable during last week have
still farther Increased. The large spit
as a role are atJII holding oat of the mar-
kat, having sufficient orders on thplr, books,
ao It la claimed, to run their plants up to
the end of tho year. Th» advent of the
smaller spinner, however, 111 search of bust-
nesa has still further weakened the situa
tion, aud. aa sellers lu this market express
It, "there does not appear to bo any bot
tom to prices."
Humors of cancellations on piece goods for
next spring delivery are afloat In the mar
ket and are being constantly exaggerated
and distorted In 'passing ' from hand to
hand. Conservative members of tbe trade
in that the cancellations are by no
na ah bad a# reported, and the manner
In which buyers nre holding ou to tbe
good* order* for spring shown that they
still have faith In the market. In the mean
time, however, yarn dealers state that their
stocks are accumulating, aa the weaving
mills, at well as knit goods manufacturers,
are not taking their nsnal supplies of yarn
for this period of the year.
Weaving yarns are weak nnd the quota
tions made are by nn means reliable. In
soma quarters they differ according to the
houses In question anywhere from U to 4c
pound. It all depends on how anxious
dealer Is to make a sale ns to what
price Is quoted. A few well known weaving
mills bare been In tbe market for enpplle*
during tbe past few days and hnve paid
fair prices sa compared with present quota
tion* for tha yarns taken.
Print Cloths Are Quiet.
i» print cloth market waa rather (inlet
_ Monday, due largely to tbo holiday.
Prices on narrow good* remain on a basis
of 5>4c for regular* and 47fcc for 28-Inch 64
by iO. Wide goods are being held at «%c
for 38H-fnch 64x64 and 7%c for 39-Inch 68x71
The mills, however, do not appear to tie
willing- to accept these prices except on
contract* bearing deliveries for next year.
