fixed at 1500.
The burglary occurred Friday night,
and the negro was arrested later by
Detectives Lockhart and Roberts.

against the Georgia Railway and Elec

FUNERAL OF JESSE LEWIS
IS HELD IN ROME.

Rome. Oa, Nov. 7.—At 2:80 o’clock
this afternoon at the Flrat Methodist
church the funeral services of Jesse
Clarence Learis, whose sudden death
occurred early yesterday morning, was
held.
The funeral was conducted at the
church by Revs. R. B. Headdcn, Chao.
O. Jones and I. B. Allen, and at the
grave by the local lodge of Knight,
Templars, of which tho deceased was a
member.
Mr. Lewi* was born In Parts, France,
going to Massachusetts when a small
boy. He came Rnuth and In 1880 mar-
rled Mias Annie Spence, of Atlanta.
She, with five children, survive. One
of the children Is Mrs. R. C. Lumpkin,
of Atlanta.

employed at Arants Brothers’ sawmill
near Moulton, was crushed to dentb
late Wednesday by a tree falling on
him. The body was brought to his
home In Decatur today. He leaves a
wife and two small children.
