been kept a jealously guarded secret.
It Is a drastic measure to take
against an officer and there are those
oho are Inclined to think that the coni,
mander has been guilty of a serious
breach of discipline. There la none
urho thinks that the misconduct of Mr.
George la of such a nature os to put hla
personal Integrity or official efficiency

GEORGIA CHARTERS
GOOD OUT WEST
A rather curious revelation growa out
of Secretary of State Phil Cook's ef-
, forts to round up corporations
, registration.
In examining his books he found that
many of the small cooperative tnsur
once companies Incorporated under the
'Georgia laws had apparently vanished
from the face of the earth. Scores of
these companies secured charters by
-the payment of the 1100 fee, and then
efforts to locate thorn revealed the fact
that they had never done any business
In this state.
That looked curious to Secretary
Cook, -and after a conference with
•Comptroller Wright, he began a cloaer
Investigation. By Inqutrlai of aome
original Incorporators it was developed
that these companies Incorporated uni
der the Georgia laws, moved to aome
Western state and began business.
L-,, They use the charter Issued by Cleor
gla as the principal capital. The char-
' ter la usually framed and hung up In
the office, and literature sent out,
“chartered by the slate of Georgia.' 1
States are eelected where no further
license are required. It Is said that
i scores of them Georgia-Incorporated
concents have gone West and are mak
