great chatelaine composed entirely of
the gay fall foliage suspended ot ono
side, opposite the entrance, made an
other pretty dash of color that was
most effective amid so much green.
The orchestra was stationed hero at
the side instead of at the end of the
room, as usual, making tho entire
length of the room free for dancing.
In a room near by a refreshing punch
was served.
The receiving party Included only
Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Cole, .Mrs. Cole
ond tho honoree, and the guest list was
a most representative one. Including
150 of tho younger set.
The presence of a number of out-of-
town guests. Including those here to
uttend the Grant-DIbrell wedding to
morrow evening, was a feature, among
them being Mrs. Rota Albert, of Rich-
mond, Va.; Mrs. J. J. Cohen, Mrs. John
Irvlno and Miss Annie G. Wright, of
Augusta; Mrs. Glascock Mayes and
Mrs. Whitefoord Russell, of Atlanta,
and_Mtsa Annie English, of Columbia,
The connecting dining rooms, where
tempting four-course menu was
served, were decked with flowers and
vines. In ono apartment there were
two email tables, one at each end, cov
ored with lace, with tall Japanese vase
In the center holding sheafs of gdlden
chrysanthemums encircled by silver
platters of bonbons. In the second
apartment, atullp dining room, whero
red nnd yellow are the dominant col
ors, tho table had a superb floral cen
terpiece of American Beatty roses and
the electric bulbs had crimson floral
casings, entwined with garlands of
cmllax.
The hostess was beautifully gowned
In an Imported creation of white lib
erty satin finished with real lace and
bands of sliver tissue caught with pink
rosebuds. Her Jewels were ruble* set
In diamonds, and aho carried a bouquet
ot pink rosebuds fringed with lilies of
the valley.
Mrs. Cule appeared In a superb gown
of white Renaissance lace over silk,
with motifs of filmy point lace, nnd
her ornaments were a handsome dia
mond brooch, a necklace of pearls and
aa aqua marine brooch set In dlamonde.
Miss Cole was a charming picture In
;r exquisite debut gown of pale yel
low liberty satin embroidered In gold,
with a panel of white net finished with
a lace fringe In a marguerite design.
She wore a topaz pendant and a pearl
necklace and bracelet of enameled me
dallions and carried if bouquet of
Golden Gate roses and lavender or
chids. On a stand back of her nu
merous other bouquets were arranged,
which made a lovely flora! display of
American Beauties, carnations. La-
France and white roses and lilies of

brother of the bride, was best man.
The wedding march was played by Mrs.
Ellenwood.

dine supper was served In the dining
room, which, with the hall and llvlni
room, were lavishly decorated wltt
chrysanthemums and ferns,
Mr. Lombard, who has been a resi
dent of Atlanta for several years, holds
a responsible position with the Inter
national Harvester Company, end with
Mrs. Lombard Is fortgnate In the pos
session of a large circle of friends.

Untied Daughter* of the Confederacy,
woe held Thursday afternoon In the
Woman'* Club rooms at the Grand.
Mrs. Edward Warner, recently re
turned from the general convention at
Jamestown, gave an Interesting ac
count of the meeting there, saying that
Atlanta clubs were well represented
nnd cordially received.
A most Interesting address was made
before the club by .Mrs. Sanford, of
Mexico City. Mrs. Sanford Is a native
Georgian, and has lived for quite a
while In Mexico. She attended the
Jamestown convention also, and
brought with her to Atlanta a varied
collection of Indian nnd Mexican hand
work, which woe exhibited at the close
of her talk.
Following the addresses came
formal discussions of th* general* con
vention of the United Daughters of
the Confederacy which will be held In
Atlanta next fall.
