The Fraternal Order of Eagles has
derided not to operate lockers, or, In
any way. to continue the operation of
|t« buffet.
This was decided upon at a meeting
of the ways and means committee
Wednesday, which recommended unan
imously the total abandonment of the
buffet after January 1.
The following letter from E. J. Walsh,
of the Eagles, In self-explanatory:
“The Fraternal Order of Eagles of
Atlantn, which has been operating a
social feature In connection with Ite
organization, called a meeting of the
ways and means committee for the
evening of Wednesday, December 18,
to take up the question, of operating a
locker club after January 1. Four-
fifths of the committee was present,
and after a careful Investigation of the
matter, reported back to the aerie a
unanimous opinion that a strict adher
ence to the law was essential to the
success of the order; that makeshift
pretensions would not be In keeping
with the Ideals of this magnificent body,
and recommended that the buffet be or
dered closed on December 31, to remain
closed Indefinitely.
“The report was adopted* and the
Fraternal Order of Eagles In Atlanta

such rapid progress a week ago. It I*
evident that many new candidates will

greatest opportunity offered thus far,

lose a lot of subscriptions which they
would get otherwise. The candldatei
will do well to remember that they will
receive 300 extra votes on every new
six months subscription, and that a new
tlx months subscription counts ss two
three months' subscriptions on the prise

Black Horse May Be Waiting.
With but sixteen days remaining In

left In the entire contest. It will behoove
every aspirant In the race to be up and
