Palermo, Dec. 20.—A Are which fol lowed the explosion in the Aiello arms factory Is still rasing. Four hotels and several houses have been de stroyed. Searchers this morning found thirty bodies, and It Is feared that many more lost their lives when the military pow der magazines exploded. The panic In Palermo has not subsfded. Great ex citement. which developed at the time the whole city of Palermo was rocked and. shaken by the terrific explosion, still prevails, and It Is difficult to secure volunteer fire fighters because of a fear that there may be more explosions. C„ yesterday placed a revolver In his mouth and killed himself, just after a postofllce Inspector had walked Into the store where Huntley conducted busi ness and began to ask him questions. What passed between the two men Is not known. Huntley had been suffer ing from melancholia for some months, and his friends had been apprehensive lest he should attempt some rash deed, it Is said.. Financial troubles are given as the cause of Huntley’s state of mind.
