A SUGGESTION
When you come in tonightor tomorrow suppose you go through in a systematic way;
sav, start at the Sporting Goods Department; there you get skates, guns, air rifles,
sleds, bicycles, games, etc.; then the Silverware Department. In this department
you will find a great display of pocket cutlery, scissors, razors, carving sets,
clocks, watches and cut glass. Then the Toy Department; there’s where old
Santa can have filled all his wants with choice stuff and but little money. Then
try the Fire Set Department; a hundred different things there that makes a beau
tiful present? Then the Baskets; what is nicer for a present than a beautiful
basket? Oh, what’s the use to go through so much. We have something
to please everybody both in price and quality, so come and see us.

CITY EMPLOYEES
WON’T RIDE FREE
At least two members of the rail
mad commission are known to oppose
making any exception* to the anti-
pass order, which goea Into effect on
January 1.
If one more member Is opposed to It,
that means that policemen, firemen,
water Inspectors, health officers and
other city employeea will have to pay
fare on street cars next year. While
members of the commission feel per
sonally that there would be no harm
In such employees riding free, that In
Kinking any such exceptions It would
lay down a dangerous precedent, and
bring down criticism on the commis
sion.
While the local street car company
Is entirely willing to continue the re
lations existing now, it can not do so
without an express order from the
cimmlssion. Practically the same con
ditions regarding this matter exist In
Savannah, Augusta, Gainesville, Co
lumbus and all other cities that have
car lines.
It Chairman McLendon is well
enough, a meeting of the commission
Will take place Tuesday, at which time
a final decision In the matter Will
probably be handed down.
