day was an amendment to the bill of
complaint. This was filed by attorneys
for Mr. Fish In spite of the objection
by Judge Dickinson, general counsel

Both sides now will prepare briefs
which will be submitted to the court
In January, and It Is expected that the
decision will be made about the middle
of February. It will not be handed
down until the directors of the com
pany meet and close the stock books.

city. ,
Mr. Brooks, not regarding the ad
dress very closely, also took It to
a letter for himself and opened the en
velope. Th9 contents of the letter con
slsted In a series of diagrams of a lock
and a key and a safe door, all of which
were executed in a manner that showed
the thorough knowledge of the design
er In his particular line of business.
At the bottom of the last page of the
document was written some message
by the man to his confederate, which
ended with these words; “Isn't
strange that one-half the world don'
know how the other half makes Its
living?

NEGRO LODGE HALLS
ARE DYNAMITED

Kestler, Go., Dec. 24.—Two negro
Odd Fellow nnd Supreme Circle halls
were dynamited near here Friday night,
one at Corea, four miles south of this
place, and the other at Balem church,
about one mile from town, making
three that have met this fate within
the last t,wo weeks <n this vicinity.
There were three terrific explosions at
Salem church, causing considerable
confusion among the residents of that
section.
Some, It Is said, believe that the
homes of the members of these orders
have become a refuge for criminals be
longing tb societies. Others claim that
there Is a certain unwholesome doctrine
being promulgated by their leaders,
thus rendering the negroes unfit for
servants or common laborers.
The better class of negroes emphatic,
ally deny these charges.

Fremont, Nebr., Dec. 24;—A piece of
flesh, said to be part of a child's tongue,
has caused the arrest of Olaf Olsen, of
Rosalie, and bringing his wife and two
children to this place. His daughter,
Lillie Olsen, aged 4, started after the
cows two weeks ago and has not re
turned.

Wrong Man Buried.
New York, Dec. 24.—The Galician
lodge burled who Its members thought
was Leon Waldflsh some months ago,
but Waldflwh has turned up alive and
now the lodge wants to know who the
corpse belongs to. The city may be

Never in the history of the lim
erick writing in Atlanta has there
been such a profusion of answers,
and we are honestly sorry that so many hundreds of them were so very much alike
that they had to bo barred.entirely. The selection of the five best lines was left to
several judges, and more-than a whole day’s time was spent in giving the most
rigid attention to every line received. We thank every one most cordially for the
great interest taken in our limerick, and we arc truly sorry that every one who re
sponded could not receive a compensation.
