at the outset fas Irregular and active. Ow
ing to the delivery of possibly 75,000 bales,
the near positions Were relatively weak,
while distant positions were In good de

In the New York market futures opened

prompt stoppuge of notices causing during
the morning trading advances of 18 to 20
points above the closing prices of Hatnrday.
Liquidation In the early alternoon caused
n recession of 8 to 14 points from the top,

In the last hour the market turned
firm, a sharp advance, carrying prices
to the previous high point, taking place.
The close was steady, net 15 to 26
points higher than Saturday's finals.
