Constantinople, Nov. 14.—With her
national treasury Impoverished by the
war with Italy and with her military
forces steadily Joeing on land and sea,
the Ottoman empire Is finally on the
verge of suing for peace, taking the best
terms possible as Indemnity for the loss
of THpolt. The Sublime Porte Is ex
pected to take action looking toward
peace some time this week. Such rep-
resentatlohs are cither being made to
the powers or will be. according to In
formation from an authentic source.
Turkey haa at last become .convinced
that her forces are no match for Italy.
However, It Is believed that the for
mal deceleration of peace will not end
hostilities In Tripoli. The turbulent
tribesmen who have declared a holy
war against the Christian invaders will
probably keep up a long and bloody
campaign until they are either aubdued
by the strongest of measures or are an
nihilated entirely.
