Powell Is Convicted.
.Anniston, Ala., Dec. 2.—At Pell City
Thursday W, W. roweil was convicted
of tha mufdcr of William B. LcCIrand.
a son of J. II. LeOrand, of this city,
on August 4. 1910. The Jury fixed the
punishment at ten years In tho peni
tentiary. Powell, who was a special
officer for the southern railway, shot
young LsGrand from the top of a
freight train, alleging that he took him
to be a burglar. LeOrand was making
his Ural run as a brakeman.

tained the proviso that hunting and
fishing license fees should.be paid by
tho state game warden Into the state
treasury, fees and expenses of tho stale
game department to be pnld from the

vision anywhere for paying out the
fees and expenses to which the warden
should he entitled,
