The executive board of the Atlanta
Woman's Union of Mission Workers
held Its first meeting Friday morning.
December 1, at the First Baptist church,
with the president, Mrs. Sam D. Jones,
In the chair. Klnn of the evangelical
denominations of tho city were repre
sented. Much enthusiasm was mani
fested nnd the points most emphasized
In thi forward look of the union were
unity, co-operation, mission study,
prayer and the enlistment In missionary
efforts of all the Christian women and
>ung people of Atlanta.
A constitution was presented by
committee appointed for that purpose,
nnd after eureful consideration wan ap
proved and will he submitted to t
union at Its first meeting,
Mr. H. A. Etheredge came as a mes
senger from the Men nnd Religion For.
ments were served In the dining room, ward Movement to ask the sympathy
nnd aid of the union In an effort to
bring to Atlanta the great missionary
exhibit known as “The World.” At the
conclusion bf his talk the following mo
tion wo* made and carried: "It Is
moved that the executive board of the
Atlanta Woman's Union of Mission
Workers Indorse the enterprise under
taken by the Men and Religion Forward
Movement to bring to our city *Tho
World' in Atlanta; that we recommend
the project to our union and request Mr.
Etheredge. to attend the first meeting
of the union and address the.ladles on
this subject.” Tho union will hold Its
first meeting In January, the time and
place to be announced later.

the post week wae the elegant recep
tion tendered Hon. and Mrs. William
Schley Howard by Colonel and Mrs.
J. C. Woodward of the Georgia Mili
tary academy at College Park on Wed
nesday evening. Both the "Retreat,”
Colonel Woodward's home, and "Rugby
Hall” were brilliant with lights, and
the most artistic decorations of a mili
ary nature, while delightful muelc by
preheetra and band added much to the
evening’s pleasure. On account of the

served to fruit punch, while later a
very enjoyable supper was served,
