THIRD WARD~CIVIC CLUB.
The December meeting of the Third
Ward Civic club was one of unusual In-
tereet and enthusiasm. The occasion
was graced by the presence of Mrs.
Woods White, who came to present the
Iwsutlfttl loving cup given by Mater &
Herkelc thru The Georgian. This Is' the
second cup won by the Third Ward
Oivlc club in their nine months' exist-
cnee, and the women feel justly proud
at the distinction.
Many Interesting topics were brought
up and dlscuseed. Mrs. White adding
a word here, a thought there, and being
withal'n most helpful and encouraging
spirit.
Letters of thanks were ordered writ

vegetables.
All In alt, this will prove a treat, both
of profit and humor. In that all the
clerks will bo costumed to correspond
with their wares, and all the articles
having been donated,. It naturally fol
lows that the) 1 can be sold economically.

family. Thera wero no attendants. The
bride was lovely In a traveling suit of
navy blue cloth worn with blousa of
navy bluo chiffon combined with gold
lace. Her. hat vvas of black velvet
trimmed with a long plume shading
from turquoise blue to gray. She wnr.-
a corsage bouquet of lavender orchids
and valley lilies.
A wedding breakfast was served after
tho coremony, after which tho bride and
bridegroom left for Washington and
Now York to spend several weeks.

black velvet trimmed In shaded plumes.

wore blue crepe meteor combined with
tan velvet and her big whtto hat was
laden with white plumes and chenille
flowers in pink.
Following the box party the guests
went to AIlss Hunnlcutt’s home on
Peachtree road, and a delicious hot
supper was served In ths dining room,
where the pretty table had for a cen
terpiece a silver vaso tilled with Liberty
I roses, wreathed with smllox and rest
ing on a handsome lace cover. The
sliver candlesticks held red tapers tipped
with red shades, and the minor details
were In red and white.
The affair was a charming compli
ment to the two pretty honor guests,
who are being delightfully entertained
during their visit to Miss Hunnlcutt.

AFTERNOON RECEPTION.
One of the large and beautiful events
of the day was the afternoon reception
given Tuesday by Airs. Bulow Camp
bell and her sister. Airs. Alexander Bon-
neyman.
The reception was given at the home
of Mrs. Campbell on Klmbalt-st, and
the guests Included several hundred
friends, who were dollghtfully enter
tained.
Tho housa was elaborately and beau
tifully decorated for the occasion, the
hall being decorated with great clusters
of brilliant rod polnsettla blossoms,
which Oiled a large basket placed on
long colonial ' ‘
the living
top of a long colonial mirror In the hall.
In the living room there wero decora,
tlofis of Richmond roses, the two host-
essscs receiving before a bank of palms
and ferns, While vases of ths rosea
were on the mantel, on cabinets and on
tables.
Punch was served In the breakfast
room, MIsb Sarah Rawson and Alias
Anne Ormo presiding over the punch
bowl, which was wreathed with green
ery and placed In front of a long mirror.
Reflected In tho mirror was a French
basket tilled with Richmond roses and
valley lilies and the table was placed In
front of a bank of palms.
In the dining room, where delicious
refreshments were eerved during tho
afternoon, the buffet was banked with
Klllarney rosee. The table was covered
with laca mats and had for a center
piece a large basket filled with Kll
larney roeea and valley lilies. The ill
ver candlesticks held white tapers
tipped with white silk shades wreathed
with little pink rose buds. Stiver com
potes held glace grapes In pink and
white and all minor details of the pretty

above the table was a basket of Kll
larney roses and valley lilies.
Tea was eerved In the living room
from a silver service, the table being
decorated with vasee of Richmond roses,
and vases of the same flowers being
placed on the mantel. Airs. Orme
Campbell presided over the tea table.
Airs. Campbell was gowned for the
afternoon In a handsome toilet of blue
charmeuse satin with draper)' of shell
pink chiffon embroidered In pink rose
buds, the gown being finished in sable.
She wore a corsage of pink orchids.
