Mrs. McKenzie Entertains for
Miss Annie Lee McKenzie
One of the largest and most beautiful
events of the season was the afternoon
reception given Tuesday by Mrs. George
McKenzie, when her married friends
Were introduced to her daughter. Miss
Annie Lee McKenzie, one of the very
charming debutantes of the season.
The reception was given at the home
of Mr..and Mrs. McKenzie, "The Pines,"
at Brookwood, and the house, which is
one of the most artistic in the city, was
elaborately ond beautifully decorated
for the occasion.
In the wide hall, whero there are
panels of English oak and beams of
the same, the Immense English fire
place was banked with palms and the
English mantel was banked with potted
pink begonias. A huge bronze Jarde-
nler of Japanese brass was filled with
greenery and the stairway was draped
with smtlax, the same forming a mural
decoration throughout the tiouse.
Mrs. McKenzie and Miss McKenzie
received their guests in the library, one
with a bank of palms, before which the
two hostesses stood. Behind the de
butante were the many exquisite bou-
qifets of orchids, roses, lilies, violets
us viviiiuo, liUOD, ViUitHO
and other flowers, which were sent to
the debutante, the whole forming a riot
of color: The walls of the library were
hung with smilax and on the mantel
and cabinets there were vases of long'
stemmed American Beauty roses.
In the billiard room, -where the walls
are of a rich dark red leather, there

the day was the buffet luncheon given
by Miss Mary Traylor in honor of her
house guest. Miss Mi

house plants.

hums, surrounded by pink-shaded
tapers and other pretty details of dec-

picture.
Miss Traylor was a lovely hostess,
and wore, ti gown of del blue, chiffon

In the dining room, ’ where delicious
refreshments were served during • the
afternoon, the mantel was banked with
the plrik begonias, while the same flow
ers were on cabihets. Vases of.long-
stemmed Kiliqrney. resds were on the
buffet and-servlng.table. The table was
covered with a lace cloth and liad for a
centerpiece a very large silver loving
cup filled with long-stemmed, full
blown Klilarney roses surrounded by
four smaller vases of the dame fragrant
flowers. From the dome above the ta
ble there was a fringe of valley lilies
and on the. table were sliver candle
sticks bearing pink tapers tipped with
pink silk shades. Silver compotes held
.glace grapes in pink nnd white and
crystallized fruits of oil kinds and every
appointment of the lovely table carried
ont the color scheme of pink and white.
Coffee was served in tho empire room,
a charming apartment, where there

Mrs. McKenzie’s gown was of shell
pink crepe, meteor, hovtnsrsrroverdress

saah of turquoise blue velvet finished
the lovely toll** and In her hair she
wotip a white osprey. She carried an
armful of American Beauty roses.
Miss McKenzie, the young debutante,
who U one of the very popular mem
bers'of society; was gowned in white
qparmeuse satin with tunic of crystal
embroidered chiffon. The Costume was
made with the full court train and the
beautiful toilet was completed by an
armful;of American Beauty roiea.
Assisting In entertaining and wearing
handsome afternoon gowns were Mrs.
