Tendered Miss McKenzje
Miss Annie Lee McKenzie, the lovely
young debutante daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. George McKenzie, was tendered
a, very brilliant cotillion Tuesday even
ing. at which Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie
entertained the unmarried set. ThS
cotillion followed the large afternoon
reception given by Mrs. McKensle
Tuesday, when her married friends
were Introduced to Miss McKenzie, and
tho two affairs were among tho very
elaborate and beautiful entertainments
of the season.
The cotillion wae given at the Pled,
mont Driving club, and upon enterlnr
the club house one found oneself Ip
A Japanese' garden, which was faith
fully reproduced In gorgeous decora
tions, and was a perfect representation
of a garden In Japan.
In the hall thero were festoons of
Japanese lanters, with a mass of green
ery, and beginning at the entrance of
the loggia was a lattice work of whit
rung with myriads of lavender wtsterl
blooms.
Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie and the-love
ly young honor guest received In the
living room, standing before a bank of
handsome palms Which filled the en(Ire
end of the room where the tall mantel
was banked with pink begonias, and on
tables and pedestals were the many
gorgeous bouquets sent by friends and
admirers to the honor guest. On ped
estals were clusters of American Beau
ty roaes, Klllarney roses and orchids,
while thare were many corsage bop-
quels of valley llUes, parma violets and
other beautiful combinations of flow
ers.
In the New Tork room the cabinets
were banked with foliage plants and
feme, and on each table was a vase o'f
Klllarney roses. Supper was served nt
small tables In the living room, tho
New Tork room and the dining room,
where the debutante sat with a group
of close friends, and In the loggia, the
guests being seated In congenial par
ties for the delicious repast served.
The debutante’s table had for a cen
terpiece a great basket filled with Kll-
larney roses and surrounded by silver
candlesticks bearing pink-shaded tdp-
ers and many decoratlvo details In
pink and white.
The ball room presented a scene lof
McKenzie, and the figures were very
elaborate and beautiful. One of the
prettiest was the lantern figure, when

which gave the only light In the ball
room, and with the gorgeous decora
tions of the parament and the elegant
toilets of the ladles made a scene of
brilliance and beauty which could not
have been surpass*!.

Mrs. McKenzie waz gowned In shell
pink crepe meteor with overdress of
exquisite point applique lace. A girdle
of turquoise blue velvet completed the
lovely costlijne and she wore a corsage
of pink orchids and parlna violets.
McKensle was lovely In her

tunic of crystal embroidered chiffon.

over white satin.

Adair, Jr., who wore pink satin; Mrs
Ben Tye. who wue gowned In gold chif
fon over satin, aud Airs. Roy Collier,
who wore flamo colored chiffon ’ over

The loggia hail the walls covered with
the white lattice hung with lavender
wistaria, and there were little tea
honses hung with tiny electric lights
shaded in pink and lavender.
The entrance of the ball room repre
sented the entrance to a forest, with a
bank of greenry, and Jlist beyond a
pergola with while columns wreathed
In smllax.
The entire celling of the ball room
was hidden with hundreds of garlands
of smllax which topped the white lat
tice walls of the entire apartment.
From the garlands of smllax there
hung row after row of brilliant Jap
anese lanterns, alternating with great
-lustera of white and lavender wistaria.
In the center of the ball room was hung
a great duster or greenry starred with
Electric lights representing white roses,
and at each'end of the ball* room was
tho same brilliant ■ effect. The tngle-
aook was converted Into a pergola with
white lattice walls, flanked on each side
liy cherry trees, laden with cherry bios,
toms, and outlining this were rows of
Electric lights In white.
On opposite sides of the boll, room
were the favor tables which wero under
little Japanese tea bouse* liung with
many clusters of lavender wisteria. The
favors were mainly Japanese novelties
—for the (Iris, gay parasols, caps,
sandalwood fans, Japanese slippers,
little Japanese fans for the hair, whis
tles. and many oth»r charming novel-
ties—while for the men there were
vordr formed of Japanese coins, Jap
anese slippers. Japanese headgear.
