A council of the Junior order haa
been recently Instituted at Stone
Mountain with a splendid charter list.
It was organised by J. H. Donalson,
of Tennessee, who la doing some work
for the order In Georgia.
The degree team of Waat End coun
cil, No. li, gave the * boys something
to remember, whtle M. H. Abbott, state
vice councilor of Georgia, presided.
The occasion was a pleasant one.
Much success Is predicted for the
new council.
A charter list is being secured In
Falrburn, Llthonla and Conyers. A
new council will be Instituted at Falr
burn soon.
The Junior Order United American
Mechanics gives to its members aplen-
dld protection, and no aaaeaaments are
made to pay the legal representatives
of a deceased brother J250 In cash.
The principles of virtue, liberty and
patriotism make all native-born Amer
icans feel a love for their country and
the land of their birth which they
have never felt before.
This order Is bound to grow rapidly
when we get the people well Informed.
We have often been misrepresented.
The objects of the order, when un-
derstpod, mean more" than simply a
lodge. It la an order that Is working
with might and main for the best In-
terest of our free Institutions and the
welfare of the American people, who
love the Institutions that have made
our country great.

An enthusiastic meeting was held
last Monday night by Atlanta Lodge
No. 14, L O. O. F. Several applica
tions were received.
The membership of this lodge Is In
creasing very rapidly and It will not be
long before It will be one of the largest I
lodges In the city.
A movement was put on foot last
Monday night to reorganise the degree
team, and the captain, R. M. Bulce,
has called a meeting of the team for
Saturday night for this purpose.
After the regular routine ot business
had been concluded the election of of

The meeting held by Comanche
Tribe. Red Men. last Thursday night
was full of Interest. Many matters
pertaining to the welfare of the tribe
were discussed.
Plans were completed for the big
meeting which occur* next Thursday
night. The great chiefs of Georgia will
be present and the other tribes ore In
vited. It Is predicted that this will
be the largest gathering of Red Men
ever held In Atlanta.

benefit of the visitors.

preparing to properly observe It.
Maccabee memorial day la looked
upon with considerable Interest
throughout the country. This Is the
flrst year that ths Maccabees of At
lanta have had any occasion to con
duct a Maccabee memorial service.
During the past ysar Sir Knights EL P.
Wrenn and T. P. Mltchsll, members
of the order In Atlanta, passed away,
and the local Maccabees will keep the
pledge they made to them when In
