ALL STATE REGIMENTS
TO HAVE MACHINE GUNS
According to advices received at tha
office of the adjutant general of Geor
gin, the secretary of war has approved
an order effective on July 1, providing
for the organisation of a machine gun
detachment In every cavalry and In
fantry regiment of the regulars.
This detachment will consist of one
sergeant, two corporals and eighteen
privates to be equipped with two Vick'
ers-MaxIm machine guns.
While this order does not In any
way affect the national guard. It Is true
that Georgia luu had two regiments,
the Third and Fifth, equipped with a
machine gun detachment, for some
time. They have proven a fine feature,
and It Is not Improbable that all the
regiments will be so equipped sooner
or later.
