Corn was blown down while the tender cotton plant waa twisted and whipped to ilecee. Shade tree* were uprooted and n other ways damaged. QUARTET OF YOUNG MEN LAID THE AFFAIR ON THE WATCHMAN. Four young men appeared before Re corder Broylea Friday morning as the result of a “rough house" last Saturday night at the plant of Trayham & Ray, In Humphries street, during the prog ress of which the shop la said to have been considerably damaged. The quartet consisted of J. E. Rich ardson, H. V. Brantley, L. O. Atkinson and A. Atkinson. Policemen Camp and i'lark Investigated the affair and It waa slated that these four young men and the night watchman had a lot of beer and whisky In the shop Saturday night and created much disorder. Officer Camp said several holes were shot In the walls, a clock demolished, and other damage done. Each of the four young men protest ed he was Innocent, asserting they were nil sober. They laid the whole affair on the watchman, saying he was the only one Intoxicated, and that he did the shooting. When the cases were called Friday morning before Recorder Broyles, the young men appeared for trial, but Mrs. Burroughs failed to re spond when her name was called. He said Felder appeared to be solor, but that Gordon seemed to be drinking. Dallas, Tex., June 15.—The horribly mangled remains of two young white men were found lying along side of the Santa Fe railway, a mile north of Fort Worth, Tex. Both bodlea had been mutilated be yond recognition by passing trains, the head of one having been entirely eev- ered from the body, and was 300 feet from the trunk. From letters and papers found on the persons of the men. It was leant d that one of them waa Jack Bishop, of Montague county, Texas, and the other I w. Jackson, whose place of residence Is not known. 1 Bullet wounds were found In the bodies of both men, and the officers are working on the theory that they were murdered and their bodies plnrea on the track to hide the evidence of the crime. From the condition of the track near the dead bodies, It was evident that a terrible struggle had taken place. Dallas, Tex, June 15.—A special re ceived here from Hillsboro, Tex., says E. E. Harvey was Instantly killed and Reese Powers badly Injured by the overturning of a fire engine at that place yesterday afternoon. Harvey wan the driver of the engine when It overturned. He was thrown to tha pavement, hto neck being broken by the fall. Powers had a shoulder dislocated and suffered a number of other In juries. The firemen on tha engine were only slightly Injured.
