June 15.—After a night of slaughter and pillage, the massacre of the Jewish population of the city went on today, only slightly diminished In fury and remorseless ness. Scores of Jews, more than halt of whom are women and children, have been killed by Russians. The police and the soldiers have encouraged and aided In the depopulating of the Jewish quarter. The Argus was bound from Puget sound to San Francisco, with a cargo of 750,000 feet ot lumber. She was built In 1902 and had a register of 657 tons gross or 627 tons net. She was owned by fhe Pacltlc Ship Company, ot Ban Francisco. Another point mentioned by Captain Brldgett which seems to give force to the story that the crew perished In an explosion Is that the lashings on the boats were not touched.
