MRS. MITCHELL'S DEATH
CAUSES DEEP SORROW

Greenville, S. C.. June 20.—The com
munlty was deeply grieved to learn
of the death of Mn. Alexander R.
Mitchell, wife of the Christ church
rector, which occurred at Mount Pleas
ant, where she had sons for the sum
mer.
Mrs. Mitchell waa a daughter of
Colonel John P. Thomas, of Columbia.
GETS LIFE SENTENCE
IN THE PENITENTIARY

Brunswick. Ga., June 20.—In the su
perior court Ralford Knight, colored,
haa bean convicted of the killing of
Lou Bennet, a negro woman, and gets
a life sentence In the penitentiary.
Knight killed the woman last Decem
ber.
W. J. Boatwright, the young white
man who has been on trial on the
