races on the Hudson began to attract gen
eral Interest throughout the country. Since
that time Cornell and tbs University of
Pennsylvania, with Syracuse In 1904, bare
divided among them the honor of winning
the -vanity eight-oared rare. The Red and
White crewa have crossed the line whiners
six times, while the Quakers have led the
way In three races and Syracuse In one. All
these racea were rowed over the Hudson
rirer course, with the exception of the 1898
race, which was a three-mile contest anil
waa held on Saratoga lake. This race was
one of the three won by the Pennsylvania
crews. The race last year was won by Cor
nell, with Syracuse aecond and George-

Log Cabin Club at Macon, July 9-14.
Nat Thornton, of Atlanta, will defend th*
title In tingles, and Thornton and Williams
will defend the title In doublet.
In singles the prize Is a handsome sliver
cup, which has been won by Mr. Angler,
Mr. Payne and Mr. Thornton, nnd which
mutt be won three times to lie retained.
The conditions, according to the club's
announcement, are:
