The lawn In front of the Marist Col
lege presented a bright picture Wed
nesday afternoon, when numbers of
people attended the lawn party given
there under the auspices of the Altar
Society of the Sacred Heart church. On

A shooting gallery afforded much
amusement to the boys, while for the
girls there were a number of games
provided. "The Cabbage Patch," of
which Mlaa Lily Peeples waa the pre
siding genius, waa popular with chll
dren and with grown folk* alike. The
guests were aerved by a bevy of young
girls, who added greatly to the enjoy
ment of the evening. The entertain
ment will continue until 10 o’clock on
Wednesday evening, many features be
ing provided during the evening for
the pleasure of the older people.

Sue Langford, who Is the guest of
Misses Annie and Claire Langford, of
West End, waa the lawn party given In

afternoon. The attractive grounds

hand-made. Her beautiful real lace
veil waa worn by her mother at the
time of her marriage. Her bouquet
was of white sweet peas.
The bridesmaids wore white lingerie
toilettes with green girdles. Their bou
quets were of white sweet pea blos
soms.
At.the subsequent reception a bridal
supper wu served buffet style, with
Ices In the form of good-luck slippers
and souvenir boxes of wedding cake.
They received several hundred hand
some gifts, coming from Tennessee,
North Carolina and Georgia, Including
two handsome cheats of silver from
the bride's family and from Mr. Har-
rlll's business associates. After a wad
ding trip to New York, Philadelphia
and Atlantic City. Mr. and Mra. Harrlll
will reside at Charlotte.

white chiffon fashioned with valen-

were pale green, and In their hair they
wore half wreaths of white rosea. They

entertained at an elegant reception and
buffet supper. In the dining room the
bridal table was prettily decorated
with white and green flowera. The
heart-shaped cake waa placed on a
mound of white roaea bordered with
ferns. The crystal candlesticks had

and green.
The brlde'a gifts to her bridesmaids
