Washington, June 30.—In a speech In
the senate on the railroad rate bill
yesterday Senator Tillman told why the
"pitchfork" had been divorced from the
"big stick," thnt the "big stick" had
deserted the "pitchfork,” while doing
duty on the firing lines. He said that
to use a baseball term, when he looked
around during the game he saw the big
stick rushing In on all-fours, to get
between Father Allison's legs.

ASK FDBJRANSFER

Macon, Ga., June 30.—Greene and
Gaynor, who have been confined In the
Bibb county Jail here pending the out
come of their appeal for a new trial,
have asked for a transfer to the Sa
vannah Jail, on the 'ground that they
can tie nearer their attorneys.
Judge Speer has the request under
advisement.
Marshal White says, however, If ths
request Is granted, Greene and Gay
