Leppelman Is a clerk In' a dry goods store. Less than a year ago J. C. Ingraham, a capitalist, died In New York. Execu tors placed a valuation on his property of 338,000,000. Leppelman Is one of the eleven heirs. The dead man was an uncle of Justice Ingraham and great uncle of Leppelman. SUPREME COURT JUDGE ADMITS ASKING REBATE By Private Leased Wire. Marshall of the supreme court that he'had asked that the life Insurance agent’a commission f,,r collection of the premium on his policy he paid to him. He contends that there was nothing wrong In his re quest. The matter came to light at the life Insurance Investigating commission'* meeting Thursday, when the corre* apondence between Judge Marshall and the company was read. The line will run a northwesterly direction through Richmond, Columbia, McDuffie, Wilkes, Oglethorpe and Clarke counties, with the principal of fice In Augusta. July 11—One of.tha largest Umber deals of recent years In Georgia has been perfected here. By It the J. L. Phlltllps Lumber Company, of Thomasvllle, has acquired from Ve reen & Smith, of Moultrie, Go., and XVIlllam Godfrey A Company, of Che- raw, S. C„ timber lands aggregating about 40,000 acres, lying around Tails- hassee, '■'In. It Is estimated that the timber will cut 260,000,000 feet of lum ber. The largest portion of the timber Is virgin round timber and the deal carries turpentine, lumber and land. Only a small part of the timber con ed has been turpentined, he consideration Involved Is about 3800,000. The Phillips Company will Im mediately begin the erection of saw mills for the manufacture of this tim ber with a capacity of some 36,000,000 feet per year. The J. L. Quincy Taylor, of 10 Corput struct, who la accused by his 10-year-old son, Albert Taylor, of forcing him to drink, under penalty of a thrashing, until he became beastly Intoxicated, was arrest ed Friday night by Policemen Arro- wood and XVylle, and will be arraigned Saturdiw afternoon before Recorder Broyles. Taylor Is held prisoner In the police station In default of a cash bond of 3200.
