C., timber lands aggregating about 40,000 acres, lying around Talla hassee, Fla. It la eatlmated that the timber will cut 100,000,000 feet of lum ber. The largest portion of the timber Is virgin round timber and the deal carries turpentine, lumber and land. Only a small part of th* timber con veyed ha* been turpentined. The consideration Involved Is about . 00,000. The Phillips Company w mediately begin the erection c mills for ths manufacture of this tlm her with a capacity of some 45,000,000 feet per year. The J. Charters for new ralllroads In Geor gia are becoming almost as common os charters for state banks. Friday morning the secretary state granted a charter to the Augusta and Northwestern Railway, which the Incorporators propose to build between Augusta and Athena, a distance of to miles. The line will run a northwesterly direction through Richmond, Columbia, McDuffie, Wilkes, Oglethorpe and Clarke counties, with the principal of fice In Augusta.
