July 27.—The local refined & MAY LOSE LICENSE A petition will be presented by Coun cilman Glass from the citizens of the Fifth ward at the next session of coun cil asking that the liquor license of Gann A Gurraux, of 229 Simpson street, be revoked. The complication* which have arisen over this saloon are many. In connec tion with the saloon Is a negro lunch room and It was only with the promise that the lunch room be closed July l that a license was granted this year. The restaurant was not closed os promised, so Mayor Woodward ordered that either the saloon or the restaurant be closed by the chief of police. These instructions were carried out Thurs- day. Now the restaurant has enjoined tn. city, claiming that a license was grant ed to it and that the city has no rigm to close the doors.
