New Orleans, Aug. 6.—The Memphis Com-

ering the central states of the belt says:
Severe wind and rain storm caused com
plaints from the dolts, hut elsewhere
throughout the belt the outlook Is most
favorable. West Tennessee sends glowing
reports. Shpddlng In sooth Texas la more
serious than previously reported, and boll
weevil damage reports more widespread."
Weather mnp favorable, with generally
cloudy conditions prevailing. Light scat-
tored showers have occurred In Georgia and
portions of the western belt.
Heavy rains north and central portions
of Texas which will likely bring In fur
ther reports of damage by weevils. Mar
