By Frlrnte Leased Wire. » New York. Aug. 7.—The market this morning was In most respects a repetition of yesterday’s movement. Trading was not particularly active, neither was It dull. Ilut the feature again was the small qunn tlty of buying necessary to cause a shnr|i Advance In prices. This expectation was realised, hut the market Itself failed to hold the Initial ndvnnco and later on In the day all the recovery was lost with price* selling at the low figure of fhe pres ent movement. Weather In the south gen* ••rally favorable nnd there seemed to l»c no support worthy of mime. An effort was made to hold the market through pnrehnsea of January and December, on which holders attempted to sell October, but the operation failed In Its purpose, nnd whenever October was offered the entire ninrket broke away rapidly. The simple fact of the matter i* that the erop Is doing very well nnd Is re reiving so much moisture that drouth, the only development to bo feared nt this sea son. Is very fsr awny. It Is now the time when Ron them marketer* of cotton will begin to h<*dgc their cotton with sales of future*, nnd It Is difficult to see how the market can stand this selling at 10c a pound. It looks very mnrh as though there was too much cotton In prospect to en courage haying, nnd either one of two things must'happen.
