mony was performed by Rev. Dr. Eakes
in the presence of many relatives anil

thusiasm manifested.
The principal incident was the pre
sentation to the czarevitch of a mag
nificent Ikon, supposed to be the out
ward and visible sign of the love and
loyalty of the men of the Manchurian
army, who were fighting the Japanese
on the dsy he was born.
The Ikon, or sacred Image picture.
Is of gold, Is Inset with rubles and
pearls, nnd cost 20,000 rubles. This
money was subscribed—the captious
say “exacted”—from the soldiers of
every regiment no»v or formerly In the
Far East.
