connected with the financial, mercantile and political interests of that blue grass section.
Mr. Ridley is well known in Atlanta and many of the Southern States, hav
ing traveled these States in the interest of a St. Louis concern.
The firm of Purse-Wells Paper Company will do a general wholesale
business and high-grade commercial printing. They respectfully solicit

"Zaxa,” which will be seen at the
Grand Thursday matinee and Thurs
day night. Is merely the history of a
Parisian girl tyho starts off by making
a bet that she can lure a certain mar
about-town, Bernard Dufrene, Into tak
ing hor to supper, ord who before long
finds entering Into her henrt a love for
him that illumlnntes her soul and
plants an Ideal where hitherto only
discontent rested. This love for Ber
nard is Illustrated minutely In a little
house In the woods jjt St. Etienne. It

lacerated through Zaza's clandestine
visit to that Parle home, where the un
expected appearance of Dufrcne's little

to white heat after she has admitted

Dufrene, where she lies to him that she
has told his wife of their Intrigue, and,
after he has cursed her for doing so,
tells him the truth, reaches a tragic
pinnacle.

Athens, Ga., Oct. 28.—Mra. Asenath
Doraey, who la the sunt of Mayor Dor-
sey, of Athens, was burled this morn
ing at 10 o'clock. The funeral service
was conducted from the homo of her
sister, Mrs. Major J. E. Talmadge,
where she lived. She died Monday
from pneumonia, together with the
weakened condition of old ago. She
was 71 years of age.

Army Daserter Surrenders.

Batnbrldge, Ga., Oct. 23.—On Satur
day Chief of Police Burke was ap
proached by a man about 30 years old,
who said that he was a deserter from
the United States army and wanted to
surrender. The man gave his name as
E. A. Kellog. and said that until about
live months ago he was attached to the
coast artillery stationed at Fort Mor
gan. Chief Burke wired Fort Morgan
that the man would be held In Jail here
until the arrival of an officer.
Negro Is Found Dead.

Batnbrldge, On., Oct. 28.—The body
of a negro man was found beside the
tracks of the G., F. £ A. a few miles
north of here Saturday. morning. It
was Identified as that of a negro porter
on one of the freight trains. The ver
dict was that the deceased came to his
death by falling between two box cars
while the train was in motfon.

teries and the burying grounds owned
