A late cable said the Russian advices were very bad and that Odessa feared that seeding would be bo badly delayed that there would be a heavy shortage of winter wheat next season. This helped to firm prices. At the close wheat was l-2c to 5*8# 3-4C higher; corn steftdy to l-4c up; oats steady to l-8<3>l-4c better. Pro visions were unchanged to 2 l-2c low er for pork; unchanged to 3 l-2c off for lard, and unchanged to 15c lower for ribs. x Trade was dull In all the pita, and offerings were light. There was some selling of wheat by the Northwest and by local holders. The small decrease In the visible ,md light Minneapolis receipts helped to steady the market. Primary receipts of wheat were About 4,000,000 bushels undor those of last year. Clearances were 642,000 bushels of wheat and flour, 293,000 bushels of corn, and 34,000 buahela ot oata.
