Clark Evans, a colored laborer, who was near the magazine at the time, was blown to atoms. The Injured are: E. Beamgard, a car penter. C. W. Peanoll, night electrician. Sam llrady. a roll boy. Will Gray, a foreman. Jim Price, a machinist. George Zimmer, night yard master. A. T\ Kitts, colored. Allen Starr, coloreds Sam Janotvny, colored. J. M. Bradford, colored. Probably a dozen others were more or less injured. Mr. Beamgard’s face was llterully torn to pieces by the force of the con cussion. Many people were awakened In the neighborhood nnd leaped out of their bods, believing that tho county Jail hud been wrecked by a mob. which they thought to be after Will Hurd, the negro who killed Patrolman Mus- grove and Injured Dave Dronnon. A fire from an unknown origin broke out In tho store room anti before the tire department could reach the scene the torpedo magazine hud exploited, anti then began a simultaneous blow- ing of signal wblstles from locomotives In the yards.
