One of the delightful social events of the week was the bridge party which Mrs. Mitchell Horner gave Saturday afternoon at her home on Peachtree road In compliment to her guest, Miss Dorothy Horner, of Baltimore. The artistic home was decorated with palms, ferns and cut flowers. In the library American Beauty roses were Used and In the drawing and dining rooms pink roses were used. Pink roses and ferns were used effectively In the decorations of the house. In the dining room the ta ble had (or Its centerpiece a cut glass vase holding quantities of pink roses, and ferns with pink tulle streamers, de pending from the chandeliers to the four corners of the table. Rnnhon dishes In cut glass were tilled with pink bonbons and crystnl candelabra holding pink candles with pink silk shades, formed a circle first drawing room held last apting they were among the Americans who were presented to the king and queen. At the samo drawing room Misses Alice Steele and Edna McCandless, hoth of Atlanta, made their bow to royalty. There will be no handsomer gowns seen In Washington this season than will be worn by these two popular young women. A brilliant and delightful occasion was the annual receptl,,n of the Teach ers' Association which was held at the Woman's Club rooms on Saturdny aft ernoon. There were present over n hundred teachers and their guests In cluded the members of the city council and their wives, the members of the board of education und their wives, and the members of the board of women visitors and thetr husbands. The club rooms were elaborately and artistically decorated with palms, ferns and pink roses. The deep windows were draped with amllax. Between the hours of 5 and 7 there were several hundred callers, and the brllllantly llghted and decorated rooms presented a beautiful scene. In the receiving party were Mrs. F. S.
