Thursday evening the pupils of Miss
Hanna’s school wilt give an entertain
ment. The guests will be amused with

One of the largest parties 9f the
week was that at which' Miss Alllne
Parks entertained Thursday afternoon
at cards. In honor of Miss Katherine
Magath, of Oxford. The home of Dr.
and Mrs. Willis B. Parks, on Forrest
avenue, was elaborately decorated In
red and white carnations, and with
ferns nnd smllax. The score cards
were tiny Christmas hells decorated
with a sprig of holly.
Mrs. Parks assisted her young
daughter In the entertainment of her
guests and wore a handsome gown of
green crepe de chine, fashioned with
lave.

The marriage of Miss Sara Collier
and Mr. Wade I^angston, of St. Louis,
which took place Wednesday night at
9 o’clock, at the home of the bride's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. Col
lier, on West Peachtree street, was a
beautiful and brilliant event, witnessed
by a large number of friends and rela
tives. The ceremony was performed
by Rev. J. R French, of the First
Methodist church. The entire lower
floor of the handsome Collier home was
thrown open and elaborately decorated
with many foliage plants and quantltl

Waynesboro, Ga., Dec. 20.—The an
nouncement of the engagement of Mins
Elizabeth Seales Pillow, of Green
wood, Minn., to Mr. Floyd Scales, of
Waynesboro, was received today in the
city, the marriage to occur at the First
Presbyterian church In Greenwood on
January 20 at 4:30 o'clock. In this
announcement is felt a cordial Interest,
because there In no young man In the
state who enjoys a more congenial and
widespread popularity than does Mr.

and the church was crowded to the
doors with friends to witness the nup
tials. Rev. L. U. Peeple*, the new
Methodist minister, performed the cer
emony, while Miss Lottie Rewls, sister
of the groom, and Mr. C. \V.. Lynn,
both of Collins, were maid of honor
and best man. Mrs. C. L. A Mender
played the wedding march, and after
the ceremony the wedding party was
given a reception at the home of tho
bride. The bride wore a white silk.

come assistant pastor of the First
Baptist church, has gone to his old
home, w here he will be ordained to the
Buptlst ministry Wednesday, December
26.
Tho sermon will be preached by Rev.
R. E. Neighbour, of this city, and a
former Georgian, whom Mr. Calloway
came here to assist.
On Thursday, December 27, Mr. Cal
loway will marry Miss Lula Wells
Brown, of Amerleus, and soon after
the *tho ceremony the couple will re
turn to Salisbury to live.
Miss Brown Is a daughter of W. E.
Brown, the large wholesale merchant
of Americas, and one of Georgia’s fin
est young women. Her prospective
husband has deserved all the favor he
has won In his short stay here.
