Look ont for "falsehoods," and all
sorts ot Certificates—on the eve of
the Election.
We again caution the vatort of Fulton
County, to pay do attention whatever to
marvellous itorio. started by tho American
party or its organ, just on the eve of the
elootion. Various attempts will 1m made
by our Know Nothing rulers, to explain
away and mystify the charges which wc
yU “havo from timo to time brought against the
.leaders and offioc seekers of that party.—
All tbsir attempts at denial, up to this time,
have ended in failure after failuro. The
factj remain as we have charged.
It is still a fact, that the American par
ty carried tbe last city olection by fraud.
It is still a fact, that a poor man came
very near being discharged from om ploy-
meat, upon tho " report" of Mr. Overby,
one of the Know Nothing candidates for
the Legislature.
It is still a fact that tho Amorican party
in this oity, appointed a free man oj color
to the offico of watchman, when plenty of
respectable white mon wanted the plaoo,
and could not get it.
It ii still a fact, that the American par
ty kept tbie come man in office, long after
the foot, were mode known, by tho cortifi-
eates of eeven respectable citizens; nnd in
deed, until, tho man voluntarily resigned,
for fear, be said, it would injure tho Amer
ican party to hold on any longer.
It ii etill a /act, that a respeo table aud
industrious white mechanic in this town,
was fined eeven dollars and f fly cents, on the
oath of this fret nuin if color, and tho mon
ey has not been refunded. Think of that,
fellow-eitiiens and laboring men of Atlan
ta. Can you—will you support a party
guilty of such conduct ?
It is still a fact, that a portion of tbe
taxe. of the poople of Atlauta, have heou
taken to support a fret man of color in
office.
--- - We have not timo to enumerate all the
eharge* which wo have brought against
tht American party since this canvass eom-
menoed. They are " too numerous to men.
lion," In the space allotted to this article.
Att«m|ite have been made to deny somo of
them, but all the efforts at denial, have
bean nothing bat eo many evasions and
palliations. The/acts remain the same
Let tho people be warned In tim«, and
