anchor near a wharf, receiving on

bales of Cotton , emblematic of the\
exports of this State—at a fmall

deration ; on the right of the laft

miitary , in defence of the confu

be lodged in the Executive Office, at
Loujville, on or before the taen ielh
day oj April next; the fize of the

Ordered, that propofah he re
ceived at the fame office, until the
Jaid twentieth day of Apil, for
forming, making and engraving \
the fme, agieeably to fuck device j
and drawing, in a maflcrly and
workmanlike manner, on or before
the third day of July next. Bond
and j curity to he given for the due
performance of the work, within
the time limited, in the fum oj two

and of the Militia thereof.
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the General
Affcmbly of this State,
pajfed an all on the fixteenth day of
I February inflant 9 entitled “ an afi
“ to compel all officers, civil and
| " military, to take and fubferibe
“ an oath to fupport the conflitution
“ thereof," in the words following,
to wit:
“ Whereas, it is necejjary that
all officers, civil and military, within
this State, fhould be bound to fup
port and maintain the conflitution
of the fame.
*’ Be it therefore cnarted, that
all and every officer, civil and mili
tary, holding any office under the
authority of this State, hy commif
flon or ctherwife, fhall take and
fubferibe the following oath, before
the clerk of the fuperwr or inferior
courts, of the county in which he
may re fide ; or if a fate officer ,
before his Excellency the Governor ,
for the time being, to wit ; “ I, A.
B. do jolcmny /wear, or affirm,
(as the cafe may he) that 1 will ■
hear true faith and allegiance to the
State cf Georgia; and to the ut
mofl of my power and ability, I
obferve, conform to , fiapport and
defend the conflitution thereof ;
without any refervation, or equivo
cation what/oever, and ike confli
tution oj the United States—So kip

“ And be it further enarted,
that all oj fleers who are now in
commifflon, civil or military, except
fuch flute officers as have been defi
ed by the General affcmbly, at this
frejentfe/fon, and have been dit'y
qua 1 fid before his Excellency the
Governor, fhall, within the term cf
fix month , take and fubferibe the
aforefaid oath , in manner and form
cjoufaul, which fhall be made of
record by the officer before whom it
is taken ; and in cafe of refufalor
neglefi of any officer , his office fhall
be confidercd null and void; and his
j Excellency the Governor, is hereby

fuch vacancy, in the fame manner as
if it had been made by death , reftg
nation or removal from the diftritl;
and in cafe any fig riff, clerk cf the
fuperior or inferior court, or any
other officer having office, or trvfi

fa d oath, in manner and /dm
