A PROCLAMATION. WHEREAS the General Affcmbly of this State, pajfed an all on the fixteenth day of I February inflant 9 entitled “ an afi “ to compel all officers, civil and | " military, to take and fubferibe “ an oath to fupport the conflitution “ thereof," in the words following, to wit: “ Whereas, it is necejjary that all officers, civil and military, within this State, fhould be bound to fup port and maintain the conflitution of the fame. *’ Be it therefore cnarted, that all and every officer, civil and mili tary, holding any office under the authority of this State, hy commif flon or ctherwife, fhall take and fubferibe the following oath, before the clerk of the fuperwr or inferior courts, of the county in which he may re fide ; or if a fate officer , before his Excellency the Governor , for the time being, to wit ; “ I, A.
