market to-day was rather quiet and without
change from the rates of Saturday.
No special change in the market for flour.—
Holders are firm. Sales 50jO hhls. Genesee brands |
at s6B7*. Some are unwilling to take less than
§7. Southern flour is worth SGSOa62J. Corn
meal $5 per hbl.
The demand for wheat, is active though the
supply moderate. Small sales (Genesee prime at
IGOcts. per bushel. Sales of white and yellow’
corn at 99t0 lU2ct*. About 5 i.oOU bushels have
changed hands. Sales ofouls at 48 els. per bush- i
el; rve 95 cts.
Whisky is worth 29 to 31 cts. per ga'lon.
'The cotton market is less active and prices are
rather tending downwards. Sales small.
Exchange on London has advanced to Cf aC4 j
per rent premium.
Nothing new in provisions or groceries, prices
firm.
'The weather to-day is pleasant and everything
looks cheerful.
COLUMBUS, Feb. 9.— Cotton. —An unusual
dullness has pervaded our market during the week
past, ami prices are rapidly receding towards what
they vs ere previous to last steamer's accounts.—
The scarcity of veisels at Apalachicola, has prov
ed a great drawback to us; purchasers being un- ,
willing to operate unless they can see some chance i
of getting it to market. Prices may now he quo- j

where about the fare. The last i heard of him he
was near ( rawfordville, beating about the rail
road. 1 think it probable he is lurking about
Madison or Augmsta, as he has friends at either
place, or near some station on the road between
those points. I beam that he ismaking for North
Carolina byway of Augusta. Any information
about him will be thankfully received, and a libe
ral reward will be paid for his lodgment in some
jail so 1 may get him.
