Dropsical Swellings, Constitutional Disorders and diseases originating from a depraved or Impart state of the Blood or oilier fluids of the body. The proprietor of this Alterative would most re spectfully assure the public that he has not offered this preparation to their notice without dee reflec tion, and close and rigid study, nor until after twelve years’experience had manifested its g~eat superiority over every other article of the kind.— and he now recommends it with confidence, fully believing that the above combination of medicine will effectually eradicate from the system a class of disease some of which have heretofore been con sidered incurable. He has prescribed it in almost every variety of disease and with unparalleled success, especially in cutaneous affections, cancerous, scrofulous and scorbutic diseases, ami diseases originating from obstruction or enlargement ofthe glands or impuri ty of the blood. Cancer and Cancerous Tumors. He has used this preparation in upwards of twen ty well defined cases of cancer and cancerous tu mors, and in every case but one with perfect and feliVire success. Brouchocele or (loitro, (Swelled Nock.) He has prescribed it in over a hundred cases of goitre, ami it has never failed in a single instance in completely remove the disease. Not a solitary case of failure. All were cured. The success lie has met with in curing broneho cele and cancerous affections has convinced him that these dangerous and horrible diseases may he removed with as much certainly a> Fever and Ague. Undoes not wish to be understood as say ing that they can be cured as soon as Fever and Ague, but w it h as much certainty; and fun her. that be has good reason for believing that this prepara- | lion will not only c ure these diseases when formed, | but that it destroys the virus or poisonous principle lurking in the system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that of.scrofula emanate. Scrofula—King’s Evil. This preparation has been used in numerous cases ofScrofula, King's Evil, and scrofulous swellings, and always with the most deci led success. Skill Diseases. It has been used in several cases of Neuralgia* | and in every case it was successful. Rheumatism. This preparation has been prescribed in a great 1 many cases of chronic rheumaism, ami in every ' casein which it was used until the system became 1 affected by the medicine, the disease was removed i Gout. A number of cases of gout have been cured by this preparation. In one of these cases, the man had been afflicted with it so severely for thirteen Years as to entirely disable him from business, and for five months immediately previous to his taking the Alterative he had been confined to his room; but before, he had finished the third bottle, he was enabled to walk about the streets and soon after re turned to his business, from w hich lie had so long •been excluded by his afflictions. Dropsical Swellings, This medicine increases the powers of digestion, excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous depositions, and ail unnatural enlargements are reduced. It imparts tone and vitality to Ihe w hole system, removin'' sick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wandering pains and nervous affections. In fact, in every case where the medicine has been taken for some time, no matter for wh. t pur pose, the general health of the patient has always been improved by it. In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some 'of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, brunchocele, and scrofula, have been cured by ibis medicine, that have ever been recorded; but want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this time. CANCER. Au interesting ease cured hy Jayne's AUrrnnvc. In the spring ot 1831, a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast of 31 re. P bee be, wife of Peter Stretch, of Salem, N. J. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by al 1 as cancerous, and besides bore all the characteristic marks of one. All probable means of removing it were used without the slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in size and painfulness, until all hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, w as abandoned, which, after a consultation of eminent Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The w hole and entire right breast was removed, and af ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by ail present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In about three months, after enduring incredi ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in spirit, to get about again. .She remained feeble, and her general health w as exceedingly bad, as in deed it had been for several years before. In the spring of 1837, upwards of live years alter her breast had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previous to its removal. This tumor steadi ly increased fur several months, and became so painful as to deprived her of rest. The glands un der the right arm w ere enlarged; and scirrhus, and a hard, irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now arrest the disease. Indeed her whole hodyappear ed to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. Bhe wasof a very scrofulous habit, both her parents having died of I’ulmonary con sumption. The experiment was now made with fhis Alterative. It was at first given in small • doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradu ally, but steadily increased daily, as long as she took it, which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution of lodine and Hy driodate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, and the tumour swelled out at the base, and became soft, and then began to diminish, and con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of disease was removed. The tumour in her left ■ breast, and those in her right axilla were also dis persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever j appeared afterwards; and hergeneral health, which i had been so bad for fourteen years as to make life a ■ burthen, was effectually and permanently restored. [ The proprietor is in possession of the diseased j breast, and those who choose may examine it. He would also say that he could mention over a dozen rases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancer and cancerous tumours, but he has not room here to record them. Mrs. Sarah \ oung, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., i had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her wind- < pipe, as large as the half of an orange, w hich was t cured by using this Alterative for about four months. Miss R S , South Fourth-street, Phila delphia, was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire spaee between the chin and breast-bone, and extended around on each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced aw ful de formity. It commenced growing when she was but five years old, and continued gradually to in ; crease until she was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, w hich she took ' for seven months, which entirely reduced the en- * largement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck as can he found. The proprietor is not at liberty to give her name in print, but will refer per sons to her. For sale by W3I. IC. KITCHEN, < *cp 28 ly 2 Sole Agent for Georgia. _ SHERIFF’S SALES. CHRISTIE’S ’ GALVANIC KINGS ’ AND , MAGNETIC FLUID. npiIIS remarkable invention, which has received the M almost universal approbation ol'the medical pru fession o!' Great Britain, comprises an entirely new ap j plication of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by meant of 1 which the ordinary Galvanic Batteries, Electric and -Mag netic Machines,&c., are entirely dispensed with, and the mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any of the objections which are inseparable from the gene ral mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irregu lar intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Ma chines, has been pronounced, after a lair and impartial trial, tube decidedly injurious, and it was to remedy this radical defect, that this new application was pro jected, which after unceasing toil and perseverance, lias 1 been brought to its present state of pertection. The Galvanic Rings answer all the purposes of the rnoat expensive Machines, and ia many other respects are more sake and certain in accomplishing the de*ir«d etfect. The Galvanic Rings, used in connection with tho Magnetic Fluid, a c confidently recommended m all D BORDERS WHICH ARISE FROM AN FNFEEItLED OR t'N- I HEATHY state of the NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM, Mild I these complaints are among the most painful and uni versal to which w e tire subject. They arise, w ithout ex ception, from one simple cause—a derangement of the i Nervous system—and it was in these cases that other | “ remedies” having so often failed, a new agent wa* ; greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, ha* been found in the proper and judicious application of Galvanism. 1 The Galvanic Rings have been used with entiresuc j cess in all cases of Rheumatism, acute or chronic, jp i plying to the head, face or limbs i Gout, Tic-Doloreux ) Toothache. Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous or Sick Headache, Indigestion , Paralyses, Palsy, Kpilcpsy, Fits, Cramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Appoplext, Stiffness . f Joints, Spinal Complaints, Ki viuvo, Neuralgia, Nervous Tremors, Dizziness of tmk Head, Pains in the Chest and Side. General Debili ty, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy, and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed Dyspepsia, which is simply a nervous derangement of the digestive organs, they have boon found equally *n«- cessful. Their extraordinary efleets upon the system , must be witnessed to be believed, and us a certain prk vf.ntivf. for the preceding complaints they are equal ly recommended. The Kings are of different price*, being made of all sizes, and of various ornamental pat terns, and can be w orn bv the most delicate fc mule » ithont the slightest inconvenience. In fact the sensation ia rather agreeable than otherwise. The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Lands, Charters, Necklaces, Arc. fn some cases of a very severe character and of long standing, the power as applied by the Galvanic Ring. is nut sufficient to arrestllie progress of dispose and ulti mately to restore health. The improved modification tu the Galvan c Belts, Bracelets, &«., entirely reme dies this objection ; any degree of pow er thal is required can readily he obtained, and no complaint which the m \ sterious agent of Galvanism can effect « ill fail to im permanently relieved. These articles are adapted to tho i waist, arms, wri.-ls, limbs, ancles or any part of ilie body with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklac e* are used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or affections of the threat generally ; also in cases ol .N en voi's Deafness; and w ith almost uniform success at a preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar complaints. Christie’s Magnetic Fluid. Is issued in connection w itii the Galvanic 1! inch. and all their modifications. HI i’TERS are purely a vegetable conipoimcl. and are offered to the ptib lir I mm a principle <d benevolence, under the full est conviction that they will he found a safe and sovereign remedy for Dyspepsia. They have been triumphantly tested not onlv by some of the most respectablelaniilies in the State. who have furn ish ed ample testimony as to their decided excellence, hut also by the proprietor, who. for ten years, suf fered the gloom incident to that distressing dis ease. i hey possess the peculiar excellence denied to most other Hitters, of not proving injurious hy continued use. They contain not a single delete rious ingredient, and, as seen from the directions which accompany each bottle, may lie given w ith entire safety to an infant in the month. If the Colleton is taken regularly and persever ingly,(which is highly important in stubborn cases,) tliey will,.soon alter the use of a lew bottles, be found to act on the system like a charm—imparting vigor to the stomach, bracing the nerves, cleans ing the li\er, promoting digestion, increasing the appetite, strengthening the chest and voice, reliev ing pains, cramps, and stitches in the breast. They are also most excellent for cholera morbus, habitua I t oust i pat ion, sea-sickness, nausea, proceeding from w hate %er cause. In cases of general debility, it has proved one of the best remedies, and is there fore highly recommended to elderly people, literary gentlemen, students, and others ofsedentary habits. Taken in small doses frequently through the day they have checked the most violent diarrhoea ami likewise been administered with the happiestetfect n cholera infantum. In all the foregoing complaints, these Hitters w ill he found effectual if persisted in, and taken accord ing to the directions which accompany each bottle. And although it has been testified by several that they are excellent in many others, yet in none other than those above enumerated, is the proprietor will ing to vouch for their efficacy.' They were prima rily and solely intended to cure Dyspepsia. The Colleton Hitters have been eight years be fore the public; and in consequence of the increas ing demand for this valuable medicine, the proprie tor has entered largely into ine business—bottles are procured having “Colleton Hitlers” moulded tn them they are also numbered, sealed and stamp ed with an appropriate motto.
