The proprietor of this Alterative would most re so**r:ful!y assure the public that he ha- not offered this preparation to their notice without due redac tion, and close and rigid study, nor until aoer twelve years’ experience had manifested its ureal sipieriuriiy over every other article of tin and he now recommends it with confidence, u. y believing that llie above combination ot ineo.m.te will effectually eradicate from the swtem a of disease some of which have heretofore Ueucuti •idered incurable. He has prescribed it in almost every variety of disease end with unparalleled success, especially in cutaneous affections, cancerous, scroiulous ariu ■corimiic diseases, and diseases originating Horn obstruction or enlargement of the glaimsor uapun ty of the blood. Cancer and Cancerous Tumors. Ife has used this preparation in upwards oftwen tv vveil defined cases of cancer and cancerous tu mors, and in every case hut one with perfect and entire success. Ut ouchoccle or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.) He. has prescribed it in over a hundred cases of goitre, and it lias never failed in a single instance to completely remove the disease. Not a solitary rase ol failure. All werecured. The success he has met with in curing hroncho cele and cancerous affections has convinced him that these dangerous and horrible diseas s may he removed with as much certainly as lower ami Ague. He does not wish to he understood as say i,,g that they can be cured as soon as Fever and Ague, but with as much lu'rtuinty; and further, that he has good reason for believing that this prepara tion w ill not only i lire these diseases v\ lien formed, but that it destroys tiie virus or poisonous principle lurking in the. system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that ofscfol in a emanate. Scrofula—King's Evil. This preparation lias been used in numerous cases of ■'scrofula, King's Evil, and scrofulous s\\ tilings, and always with tin most dec i ed success. JSkin Diseases. He has prescribed it in a great variety ofeutane ous affections, and found it successful in curing sail rheum, or tetter, biles, blotches, pimples, morphew and jaundiced skin, &c. Dyspepsia and Liver Complaint. It has been used in numerous cases of liver com plaint and Dyspepsia, and \\ ilh the happiest effect. Tic-Dotiloureuz. It has been used in several cases of Neuralgia, and in every case it was successful. Rheumatism. This preparation has been prescribed in a great many cases of chronic rhetunuism, and tu every casein which it was used until llie system became affected by the medicine, the disease was removed Gout. A number of cases of gout have been cured by this preparation. In one of these cases, the man had been afflicted with it so severe!} for thirteen years as to entirely disable him from business, and for five months immediately previous to his taking the Alterative he had been confined to his room; but before he had finished the third bottle, lie was , enabled to walk about the streets and soon after re- I turned to his business, from which lie had so long been excluded by his affliction*. Dropsical Swellings, This medicine increases the powers of digestion, excites the absorbents imo healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous depositions, and ail unnatural enlargements are reduced. It. imparts tone and vitality to the whole system, removing sick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wardering pains and nervous affections. In fact, in every case where the medicine has been taken for some time, no mailer for wh t pur pose, the general health of the patient has always been improved by it. In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some nf the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, hroiicbocele, and scrofula, have been cured by \ this medicine, that have ever been recorded; but j want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this lime. CANCER. An interesting case cured by Jayne's Alterative. in the spring of 1831, a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast of Mrs. IMicehe, wife of I‘eler Stretch, of Salem, N. J. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by ail as cancerous, and besides bore ail the characteristic marks of one. All probable means of removing it were used without the slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in size and painfulness, until all hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, w hich, after a consultation ot eminent Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. John Rhea Barton, assisted bv Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The whole and entire right breast was renco"ed, and af ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by all present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In about three months, after enduring incredi ble sufferings, she. was enabled, though broken in spirit, to get about again, tslie remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it bad been fur several jears before. In the spring of 1837, upwards of five years alter her hieasl had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previons to its removal. This tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became so painful as to deprived her of rest. 'The glands un de the right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and a hard, irregular, and at limes painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now arrest thedisease. Indeed her w hole body appear ed to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. Bhe was of a very scrofulous habit, lx»ili her parents having died of Pulmonary con sumption. The experiment was now mane with this Alterative. It was at first given in small doses, three limes a day, and the doses very gradu ally, but steadily increased daily, as long as she took it, which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution id' lodine and Hy driodate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, and the mraourswelled out at the base, and became soft, and.thett began to diminish, and con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of disease was removed. The tumour in her left breast, and those in her right axilla were also dis persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards;and hergeneral health, which bad been so had for fourteen years as to make life a burthen, wan effectually and permanently restored. The proprietor is jn possession of the, diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. He would also say that he could mention over a dozen cases equally interesting, wherein ids Alterative has subdued cancer ami cancerous tumours, but be has not room here to record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her wind pipe, a- large as the half of an orange, which was cured by using this Alterative fur about four months. Mbs R— S , South Fourth-street, Phila delplua, was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire space between the chin and breast-hone, and extended around on each side of Iter neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced aw iul de formity. It commenced growing when she was but five years old. and continued gradually to in crease until she was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which she took for seven months, which entirely reduced the en largement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a peck as can he found. The proprietor is not at liberty to give her name in print, but will refer per son* to her. forriueby WM. K. KITCHEN, Jy S Sole Agent for Georgia, COLLETON BITTERS.
