Jjropsieal Swellings, Constitutional Disorders and
diseases originating from a depraved or Impure
unte of the Blood or other fluids of the body.
The proprietor of this Alterative would most re
»p**ciful!y assure the public that he has not offered
this preparation to their notice without tine reflec
tion, and close and rigid nor until alt* r
twelve years’ experience had manilested iig -
superi- rity over every oilier article o, t' «^ 1I "
and he now recommends it with conifi e . /
believing that the above eombinancm of ntedicn.e
will effectually eradicate from the ■ > ■
aidered incurable. . ,
He Ins prescribed it in almost every variety of
disease and with unparalleled success especially
H cutaneous affections, cancerous, scrofulous and
' rbmic diseases, and diseases originating from I
obstruction or enlargement of the glands or impart- j
ty of the blood.
Cancer ami Cancerous Tumors.
He has used this preparation in upwards of twen
ty well defined cases of cancer and cancerous tu
fuars, and in every case but one with perfect and
icntire success.
Isronchoce!e or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.)
He lias prescribed it in over a hundred cases of
goitre, and it has never failed in a single instance
to completely remove ihe disease. Not a solitary
rase of failure. All were cured.
The success he lias met with in curing broncho*
cele and cancerous affections has convinced him
that these dangerous and horrible diseases may be
removed with as much certainty as Fever and
Ague. lie docs not wish to be understood us say
ing that they can h-* cured as soon as Fever and
Ague, but with as much certainty; and further, that
lie has good reason for believing that this prepara
tion will not only < tire these diseases w hen formed,
but that it destroys the virus or poisonous principle
lurking in tlie system, from which that peculiar
class of diseases, as well as that of scrofula emanate.
Scrofula—Kind's Evil.
This preparation has been used in numerous cases
cfScrofula, King’s Evil, and scrofulous swelling*,
and always with the most deci :ed success.
Skin Diseases.
He has prescribed it in a great variety ofeutstne
cus affections, and found it successful in curing salt
rheum, or tetter, biles, blotches, pimples, morphew
and jaundiced skin, &c.
Dyspepsia and Liver Complaint.
It has been used in numerous cases of liver com
plaint and Dyspepsia, and with the happiest effect.
Tic-Donloureaz.
It has been used in several cases of Neuralgia,
and in every case it was successful.
Rheumatism.
This preparation has been prescribed in a great
many cases of chronic rheumaism, and in every
casein which it was used until the system became
affected by the medicine, the disease w as removed*
Goat.
A number of cases of gout have been cured by
this preparation. In one ol these cases, the man
had been afflicted with it so severely for thirteen
years as to entirely disable him from business, and
for five months immediately previous to his taking
the Alterative he had been confined to his room;
but before he had finished the third bollle, he was
enabled to walkabout the sire is and soon after re
turned to his business, from w hich he had so long
been excluded by his afflictions.
Dropsical Swellings.
This medicine increases the powers of digestion,
excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by
which watery or calcareous depositions, and all
unnatural enlargements are reduced. It imparts
tone and vitality to the whole system, removing
nick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wandering
pains and nervous affections.
In fact, in every case where the medicine has
been taken for some lime, no matter for wb.t pur-
Eose, the general health ul the patient has always
een improved by it.
In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some
of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can
cer, bronchocele, and scrofula, have been cured r>y
this medicine, that have ever been recorded; hut
want of room in this sheet precludes their publica
tion at this lime.
CANCER.
An interesting case cured by Jayne's Alterative.
In the spring of 1831, a cancerous tumor appear
ed in the right breast of.']rs. Phoebe, wife ol" Peter
Stretch, of Salem, N. J. It was examined by many
Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous,
and besides bore ail the characteristic marks of
one. Ail probable means of removing it were used
without the slightest benefit, it continued to in
crease both in size and painfulness, until all hope
of saving her life, but by a painful operation, w as
abandoned, which, alter a consultation ofeminent
Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr.
John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the
proprietor, and two o.her medical gentlemen. The
whole and entire right breast was reinced, and al
ter examination of the tumor, was ptoaounced by
all present a cancer of the most malignant charac
ter. In about three months, afterendnring incredi
ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in
rpirit, to get about again, tihe remained feeble,
and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in
deed it had been fur several years before. In the
spring of 1837, upwards of five year*, after herb: east
had been rent <ved, a painful tumor made its ap
pearance on the right side, immediately over the
part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right
breast, previous to its removal. This tumor steadi
ly increased for several months, end b-came so
painful as to deprived her of rest. The . amis un
der the right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and
t hard, irregu.ar, and at times painful tumour, ap
peared in the left breast. No operation could now
arrest the disease. Indeed her whole t>ody appear
ed to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid
ered hopedess. tshe was of a verv scrofulous habit,
both her parents having died of Pulmonary con
sumption. The experiment was now mane with
this Alterative. It was at first given in small
doses, three limes a day% and the doses v cry gradu
ally, hut steadily increased daily, as long as she
took it, which was about six months, and ihe skin
over and around tlie tumour was wet night and
morning with a strong solution of lodine and 11 y
driodute Potash. The tumour continued increas
ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times
verv painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto
gether, and the tumour swelled out at the base, and
became soft, and then began to diminish, and con
tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of
disease was removed. The tumour in her left
breast, and those in her right axilla were also dis
persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever
appeared afterwards; and her general health, w hich
had been so had for fourteen years us to make life a
burthen, was effectually' and permanently restored.
The proprietor is in possession of the diseased
breast, and those who choose may examine it. lie
would also say that he could mention over a dozen
rases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative
has subdued cancer and cancerous tumours, but he
ha" not room hereto record them.
Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge,N. J.,
had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her wind
pipe, a' large as the half of an orange, which was
cured by using this Alterative fur about lour
months.
Miss II S , South Fourth-street, Phila
delphia, was also cured of an enlargement of the
throat, which filled the entire spaee between tlie
chin and hreast-honc, and extended around on
each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from
her ears to her shoulders, and produced awful de
formity. It commenced growing when she was
but five years old. ami continued gradually' to in
crease until she was nineteen, at which time she
commenced using this Alterative, w hich she took
for seven months, which entirely reduced the en
largement; and she has now as smooth and pretty
a neck as can be found. The proprietor is not at
liberty to give her name in print, but will refer per
son* to her.

FOR DYSPEPTICS.
r jppIIC.SL BITTERS are purely a vegetable
-H- compound, and are offered to the P u "' j
lie from a principle of benevolence, under the full
est conviction that they will he found a safe and j
sovereign remedy for Dyspepsia. They have t“cn ,
triumphantly tested not only by some of the nt«>
respectable families in the Btate. who have turn is -
ed ample testimony as to their decided excel v?nre,
but also bv the proprietor, who, for ten years, ant
lered all the gloom incident to that distressing dis
ease. Thev possess the peculiar excellence denied
to most other Bitter*, of not proving injurious by
continued use They contain not a single delete
rious ingredient. and, as seen from the directions
w hich accompany each bottle, may be given with
entire safety to an infant in the month
If the Colleton is taken regularly and persever
ing ly,( which is highly important in stubborn cases,)
thev will, soon after the use of a few bottles, be
found to act on the system like a charm—imparting
vigor to the stomach, bracing th« nerves, cleans
ing tlie liver, promoting digestion, increasing the
appetite, strengthening the chest and voice, reliev
ing pains, cramps, and stitches in ihe breast. They
are also mostexcellent for cholera morbus, habitual
const ipa i ion, sea-sick ness, nausea, proceeding from
whatever cause. Jn cases of general debility, it
has proved one of the best remedies, and is there- !
fore highly recommended to elderly people, literary j
gentlemen, students, and others of sedentary habits, j
Taken in small doses frequently through the day, j
they have checked the most violent diarrhoea, and !
likewise been administered with the happiest effect |
, n cholera infantum.
. In all the foregoing complaints, these Bitters will !
| he flfund effectual if persisted in, and taken accord
ing to the directions which accompany each bottle.
And although it has been testified by several that
they are excellent in many others, yet in none other
than those above, enumerated, is the proprietor will- ;
ingto vouch for their efficacy. They were pritua- ;
rily and solely intended to cure Dyspepsia.
The Colleton Bitters have been eight years be- I
fore the public; and in consequence of ihe increas- j
mg demand for this valuable meoicine, the proprie
tor has entered largely into the business—bottles
are procured having “Colleton Billers”moulded in
them—they are also numbered, sealed ami stamp
ed with an appropriate motto Price $ I per bottle.

GALVANIC RINGS
AND
.MAGNETIC FLUID.
rg'UIIS remarkable invention, which has received the
jl. almost universaluppiobatiuu of the medical pro
fession of Great Britain, comprises an entirely new ap
plication of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of
which the ordinary Galvanic Ba tenes. Electric and Mag
netic Machon-s,&c., are entirely dispensed w ith, and the
mysterious powers of Galvanism applied w ithout any
of the objections which are inseperalde from the gene
ral mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irregu
lar intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Ma
chines. has be n pronounced, as-era fair and impartial
trial, tobe decidedly injurious, and it was to remedy
this radical defect, that tiffs new application was pro
jected, w iii. li after unceasing toil and perseverance, lias
been brought to its present state of perfection. The
Galvanic Rings answer all tne purposes of the most J
expensive Machines, and in many other respects are ;
more safe and certain in accomplishing the desired i
effect.
The Galvanic Rings, used in connection with the
Magnetic Fluid, a e confidently recommended in all i
D SORDERS WHICH ARISE FROM AN ENFEEBLED CR UN -
HEATHY STATE OF THE NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM, and J
these complaints are among the most painful and uni- |
versa! to which we are subject. They arise, without ex- ‘
ceplion, from one simple cause—a derangement of the
Nervous system—audit was in these cases that other
“ remedies” having so often failed, a new agent was
greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, lias |
been found in the proper and judicious application of I
Galvanism.
The Galvanic Rings have been used w ith entiresuc- !
cess in all cases of Rheum atism, acute or chronic, ap i
plying tothe head, face or limbs = Gout, Tic-Doloreix
Toothache. Bronchitis. Vertigo, Nervous i r Bilk
Headache, Indigestion , Paralyses. Palsy, Epilepsy,
Fits, Cramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Appoplexv,
Stiffness f Joints. Spinal Complaints, Kumbago,
Neuralgia. Nervous Tremors, Dizziness of toe
Head. Pains in the Chest and Side. General Debili
ty, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy,
and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed
Dyspepsia, which is simply a nervous derangement of
the digestive organ?, they have been found equally suc
cessful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system
must lie witnessed to he believed, and as a certain pre
ventive for the preceding complaints equal
ly recommended. The Rings are of different prices,
being made of all sizes, and of various ornamental pat
terns, and can be worn by the most deiii ate female without
the slightest inconvenience. In foot the sensation i?
rather agreeable than otherwise.
The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Bauds,
Garters, Necklaces, «Vc.
In somecases of a very severe character and of long |
standing, the power as applied by the Galvanic Rings j
is not sufficient to arrest th- progress of disease and ulri- .
mutely to restore health. The improved modification in
the Galvan c Belts, Bracelets, &c., entirely reme
dies this objection ; any degree of power that is required
can readily be obtained, and no complaint which the
mysterious agent of Galvanism can etfecl » 111 fail lo be
permanently relieved. Tln se articles arc adapted to the |
w aist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles or any part of ihe body j
with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklaces i
are used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or .
affections of the throat generally ; also in cases of Ner- I
vous Deafness; and with almost uniform success as a
preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar ■
complaints.
Christie’s magnetic Fluid.
Is issued in connection with tin. Galvanic Rings, and
all their modifications. This composition has been pro
nounced by the French Chemists to be one oi ihe most
extraordinary discoveries of modern sciein e. It ifc jic
lived to possess a remarkable power ot renderiiig the
Nerves seusitive to Galv.uuc actioii, by these means
causing a circulation of tile influence at the seat ol dis
ease, and thus giving rapid and permanent relief. No
other composition in chemistry is known to produce the
same effector to impart a similar property toliie nervous
system hv means of an outward local application. The
Magiievic Fluid coutainsnothlugcapatde of the slight
est injury, its application is agreeable, and it is harmless
in its action as it is beneficial in its result. Full explana
tions and directions accompany it. The combined in
ventionsarc in every way perfectly- harmless; they are
at prices within reach of all.and tne discovers only re
quests a fair trial, as a test of their surprising efficacy
and permanent benefit.
