COMMERCIAL. Latent OATES from LIVERPOOL, :::::;::march 4. Latest dates prom Havre,2B. SAVANNAH, April 2.— Cotton. —Arrived since the 26ih uit., 830 hates Upland (464 by Central Rail K<*ad) and 290 hales Bea Island, and cleared in thes ame lirae, 4479 hales Upland and 85 hales Sea I>laud; leaving on hand, including all on ship board not cleared on the 2d inst., a stock of 37993 hales Upland and 3165 bales Sea Island, against 2i790 bales Upland and 1801 bales Sea Island at saine pern*! last year. The Cotton market, since the accounts, has been gradually on the decline, say from on eighth to a quarter of a cent, until yesterday, w hen some disposition was evinced by operators to speculate. The improvement however was principally in the finer qualities. The receipts of the week are very light, and the rates of foreign freights have de clined a fraction. The sales of the week sum up only 1806 bales, as oilovvs: 39 at 9l; 28 at W; I 19 at Hi; 113 at iU j ; 471 at loi; 105 at 10i; 347 at 101; 218 at !«}; 145 at 11; 127 at ll|; and 123 hales at lIJ Cents per lb. We quote for square bales. Georgia sold on the wharf for SC,7U do do at £6,25, and 15 do choice at £7. Corn. —Sales ot the week amount to about 4,- Oooto 5000 bushels at prices ranging from 80 to 90 cents. The last few days the sales have been brisk at the latter price. Groceries. — In sugar we have no sales to report. Lola of Cuba Molasses have met ready sales at 24 a25 cents per gallon. Small lots of lito Coffee have been sold at 84 cts. per lb. Bacon. —We note a sale of 4000 to 50 r 0 lbs. Sides 84 cts. Western Georgia and Tennessee, hug round, at 9 cts. Lard. 3OOO lbs. Georgia sold at ]0 cents. Halt. Very little on the market, SUO sacks sold at 8! per sack. Bagging —We have not heard of any large sale. At retail 14 cts. has been paid fur Kentuc ky- . Liquors —No sales of impnrtrnce to note. A small lot Domestic Rum brought 32 cents. Freights. —Roth foreign and domestic are dull. To Liverpool we quote 4d. for square and round To N. York the rates are 7-16 for square, and 4c, for round bales. To Boston engagements have been effected at 4c half round and half-square. To Providence, we quote 4c for round and square. To Philadelphia and Baltimore vve understand the rates to be 4c for square and round. NEW A ORK, March 31. — Cotton —Buyers for exoon have no , since the arrival of the Hibernia, done anything of moment, so that we are still left to the home demand, which, however, lias been sufficient to take from the market all offered at fair rates; it is now firm, and prices since our last have been frilly supported. VV’e revise our quota- 1 linns, which are now 1 a i£ rents higher than on the 27th February, the dale of our publicaiion for warded by the Cambria. The sales since then reach 31.300 bale-; and since our last, 2600, of which 2000 bales were Upland and Florida, as follows: Ord. to good urd. 10 a 10|c; mid. to good mid. News regarded as favorable, and some ■ parties claiming 5,75 for Ohio brands. Corn —Animated demand at previous rates— sales 15,000 sacks, of which 1000 While in cotton sacks, 600 Mixed and 3(H) White sold at 80c; and 2000 Mixed and White, 1400, 1100 and 600 Mixed, 4129 and 2500 White and Yellow, and 2500 bush els, chiefly White, at 85c—some holders claiming 90c for White. None need apply to enl»-r the service, hut those who are determined to serve honestly and faithfully, the period of their enlist ment, viz: "during the war” with Mexico, or fur the term of five years, as the recruit may elect. A bounty of Twelve Dollars will be paid to each recruit enlisted. The sum of 'Two Dollars will be paid to any Citizen, Non Commissioned Officer or Soldier, who shall bring to the rendezvous an able bodied recruit, who shall he regularly enlisted.
